Technology Fuel tank re-hab

Here's an entry I'll bet nobody anticipated in a tech forum, but I just got done with a 3-part gas tank re-hab with some stuff from: http://www.kbs-coatings.com/ that looks like it's gonna be fan-fukkin'-tastic.

First part is a general cleaner-degreaser, and it made the innards of that old tank just as clean and smooth as Carmen Electra's ass cheeks.

Second part is a rust blaster, (called, stangely, Rust-Blaster) and it made Carmens smooth ass actually shine! Honest to shit it looked like stainless steel in side. This part also turns any remaining rust into primer and puts down a full acid-etch-primer coat on the entire inner surface of the tank. It looked so damn good I wanted to bang 'er right in the gas-hole; but I didn't want to fuck up the primer coat.

Last is an epoxy resin that binds to the primer coat as well as any remaining rust you couldn't/didn't remove.

Only time will tell if this epoxy coat is as good as advertised, but if it does as well as the first two parts I'm lookin' at at least a twenty-thirty year fix on the tank. All I gotta do now in Dura-coat the outside and I shouldn't have any rust worries until long after my own monkey ass checks out.

I know this involves no new video games/computer-shit/cell phone crap, but if there's any old gear heads out there in [words=http://www.mattersofsize.com/join-now.html]MOS[/words] land who've got fuel fouling problems I, for one, sure as hell recommend this system.

It takes a little work and a few days to do it properly, GOOD prep work is vital, but it looks damn well worth it.

I love the DIY stuff. Pretty cool rehab! I am planning on doing an LPG conversion on my V8 rover....I am going to try to do it myself but that usually means doing it wrong an having someone fix my errors:)

Nice! i kinda like the design of that website. Looks like i'll have to make something similar because i too have automotive products that i'll be introducing to the USA market. It mainly has to do with improving performance & gas mileage on any vehicle. Top of the line German product.

I did a Cat-Delete and I am getting much better gas milage and a lot more horsepower.

I've heard mix results with those things. My methods pretty much stops the wear & in tear in the engine from ask the rubbing of metal together... And increase horsepower by 5 to 11 percent...That's one of the many services will be offered.

It is running so much cleaner and powerful, lots of pep and the gas is at around 17 miles to the gallon from 13, so not a big difference. The one thing I do not like so much is the exhaust note is quite deep with the V8 and with long drives it can become very difficult on the ears. I am sending it to a shop in Florida to have some special waterproof, baffles and new marine quality speakers and stereo components. This will allow me to go into deeper water if I desired. I am also lifting it 2" (Old Man Emu) and a Warn 12000 winch added. I would like to add a LPG backup fuel system to increase milage and a upper exhaust stack for deep water

I just got the Defender back a few weeks ago where they did a frame off restore, all new seals, rubber, glass, pretty much everything. It looks awesome too! Here is a picture of my Defender 90.

That looks fukkin' schwe-e-e-e-e-t!
I'm lookin' to get my "Franken-trooper" back on the road damn soon, after far too long of a layoff.

I was up to 25 MPG on the highway w/that Old Guy...before the fukkin' bimbo-on-d-cell-phone decided to drive under me and total me for the third time.
