Make sure to reset all the tension bars too. If the 1" bar isn't enough, then try adding the 1/2" bar.

Yeah you need to add bars, you are at the least amount of tension on that device. You should feel the difference with a 1" bar added for sure.

Maybe you need to add a 1/2" bar, and if that's not enough to get you stronger tension then try the 1'' bars.

That might press into your skin a bit more since there would be less surface area. Maybe make it more prone to cracking or breaking even. I have an X4 Labs extender, and I also use the bigger base which IMO is much more comfortable then the normal base.
