Zimbabwe ends private land ownership
Baltimore Sun |
"After Land Reform Minister John Nkomo said in the pro-government Herald newspaper that all land would be nationalized, some analysts said they fear that the move could further destabilize the country's agricultural system and create more food shortages. 'Ultimately, all land shall be resettled as state property... In the end, there shall be no such thing called private land,' he said, calling on all land owners to come forward to be approved for 99-year leases."

From the article:
"Under the policy, white-owned farms were seized and given to black Zimbabweans"

Is this the new euphemism for cold-blooded murder- farm seizure? Why do the reporters refuse to acknowledge that Zimbabwe's problems stem from Mugabe's policy of genocide? Typical media bullshit.

Yeah siezing all of those white owned farms that had been run by the same family for generations and handing them over to someone that doesn't know shit about agriculture was a swell idea. Let them starve.

Patrick Bateman,

It isn't a racial issue or a social economic one. It is a property rights issue. I basic issue related to what is the proper role of a government. Doesn't matter if it was taken from a white farmer or black one. ALot of black farmers are caught up in this crime as well. It doesn't matter that the land will be used by the uninformed. It would make not make ir moral if the land was given to the best farmers in the world. This is a property right issue period. Without basis property rights, a human has no other rights that are enforceable in an objective world.
