I'm only guessing, but what I think DLD is alluding to is the fact that if you're so myopic about anything you end-up missing-out on all the possibilities that are flying around you. It's like wanting something soooo badly that you mess it up by trying too hard. The more you clench the less receptive and the more rigid the less flexible...I doubt DLD was suggesting to just float-around all hippie-dippy-like, but to be open and allow exploration in both self and society. The ruts we're stuck-in are only dug by ourselves
