Ok, theres this term I've been hearing on the hip hop radio stations lately that has me puzzled. Used in phrases like "YEaaaa, we got da crunkest crue..." ???????????

me and my friend always use that word instead of drunk... like "Hell yeaaah... lez get crunk". hehehe

That's how I've heard my cousin say it as, " My homies and me just got crunked last night! Beer and everything!" I myself would like to know aswell.

crump
(adj) Hype, phat.
crunk
1) (adj) Hype, phat. "Tonight is going to be crunk" -- ??.
2) (adv) To get crunk: to have a good time. "Long as everybody get crunk in the drop" -- Lil Bow Wow (Bounce with me [2000]).

Got that from the rap dictionary.

so that means they have the phatist (good time) crew...wow..i feel so much smarter now, thanks to some beer and Ebonics 101.....:p and there aint no crew crunkier than us....;)

crunk is a fucking old word, im the whitest little bitch youll probably ever have the misfortune to be schooled in ebonics by, but as i understand u can say get crunked up, or up in this crunk. or any other variation, i dont think it matters.

Kinda like the Smurfs use the word "Smurf".

1 - "Yeah man I saw you leave with Smurfette last night."
2 - "Oh, yeah.. The second we got to the parking lot, she started Smurfin' me."
1 - "No way! That's so Smurfin' awesome."

You ALL have it wrong, the closest definition I saw is "Hype"

It's a word that originated in Atlanta and has been around since I was in elementary school (10 years ago)

Basically I'll break it down for you and how it got popular

Rap used to be all NYC in the 80's, early 90's it was West Coast, and if you haven't noticed lately the rap you will hear on all radio stations are Atlanta rappers, with all the Lil Jon, Youngbloodz, Outkast, and all southern Georgia rappers use the word "Crunk"

It does NOT mean to get fucked up off alcohol or drugs, it's original meaning has been distorted of course by the kids in the suburbs...

Basically it does mean to get Hyped up like to "Get crunk in the club" basically means get wild, "throw bows", dance, and yell and holler.

Now it can mean anything like "tight", if something is "dope" or "cool", it is now known as "crunk". Words change depending on who uses them, the West coast has distorted it as a meaning "to get fucked up" which was not the word's original intention.
