You should go for the muscle gains, i know that it's harder and takes longer but generally speaking any weight gained that is not muscle will eventually have to come off.

To answer your question... you will need to EAT, EAT, EAT... do you know how many calories you're eating everyday?? If not, start counting and keep adding more until you gain weight. The concept is easy, to gain weight - Calories consumed MUST be greater than calories expended.

Yea eat a lot of food and lift weights. You aren't gonna want to gain 10-20 kilos of only fat. Thats pretty unhealthy.

I would not advise just adding weight with the idea you can add muscle later and not have challenges of becoming lean.

First, you must have a balanced diet based on current weight and target weight.

Second, in order to gain weight that is primarily muscle, the recommendation is to consume 2g of protein for every pound of the target weight. Another words, if your target weight is 200 lbs., your diet should consist of 400g of protein.

Third, resistance training will enable you to gain lean muscle, the best kind of weight.

Levista, please chime in?

For lean guys that have trouble putting on weight (hardgainers), gaining that king of weight in 6 months will require lots of gear. Nearly impossible to do it naturally.

I been there before. 35 pounds in 6 months is alot, but still doable.

Basically, if people aren't always saying "WTF is wrong with you why do you eat so damn much?", then you're doing something wrong.

To keep it as lean as possible, protein should be first choice, and of course you should be weight training maybe 3-4 days per week.
