I spent literally all day yesterday tooling around with my SG and researching online how to properly use it... but no matter what I do, I'm getting a serious amount of discoloration in the glans as soon as I try to go up to a length that provides a stretching feeling in the penis. If i go under that, then there's no problem, but i assume at that point I'm not actually getting any work done

Can anyone help me on this? ?:( I'm really lost, starting to wonder if my SG is defectice
 
If you had discoloration that was more permanent I suggest this forum for curesDiscoloration and Stretch Marks Forum, but in your case I think you are experiencing simple color change due to restriction. This is fine for up top 60 minutes, where you should return good circulation before using for another hour. The head may become cold too towards the end of the hour, again, this is fine and will go away upon massage.
 
Well, the coldness and discoloration are coming on more towards the start of the session... the coldness comes within 5-15 minutes. the discoloration starting almost 1 minute in and getting darker as it goes on. The discoloration doesn't seem slight.... it's not straight up blue/purple, but it looks like it's on its way there. I'm especially confused because this still happens even if i have the noose/strap loosened to the point right before it slips off

I don't mean to question you, i'm just very wary of causing any permanent damage. Is discoloration actually to be expected? From everything I've read over at pegym, I've come to understand that only a small amount of discoloration/coolness is to be tolerated, and anything more should be avoided at all costs. Maybe i misunderstood?

Part of the reason I'm keeping it so tight is that I keep needing to adjust the thumbscrews, as the penis seems to continue to stretch once i strap in and increase traction. For example, I'll set it at 900g pressure (the first mark on the hexagonal rods) but after a minute or so the penis stretches, so i need to twist the thumbscrew more.... and this just continues, until the penis is stretched so far that it begins to slip if i don't tighten the noose/strap. And at this point, I'm wrapping with theraband, then sports wrap, then a cotton wrap (all for ~2 turns around the shaft)

If I go below my SFL (which is 16cm) then it's not an issue, but again, i don't think id be doing work in that region

Why don't you put the sports wrap before the theraband wouldn't that hold better? I guess the thing to do here is just find a balance. You are still stretching past 16cm just before slippage right? If you are then there's work being done. Another thing that would help if you haven't been doing it is do a comprehensive manual routine before the sizegenetics so you don't rely on it too much thus making your time in it more enjoyable.

If it's a matter of stretching past my SFL even if the traction keeps resetting, then what does the traction actually do?
 
I tried leaving it on as you said, DLD, but 20-25 minutes in the glans was so cold and even going a deep purplish color i became too concerned and had to remove the device. And this was with the penis stretched at maybe only 1cm past my SFL, with the strap only just tight enough to keep the penis from slipping out
 
It sounds like you could be trying to rush gains because almost no one ever complains about such harsh discoloration/numbness. Wearing the sizegenetics isn't gonna immediately rip inches out of your body like the lengthmaster, but over weeks of constantly being stretched. Constantly stretched man that's how the extender works, and for that you need to fine tune your form. Be patient until you acclimate to the device, and everything will be simpler:)

Have you thought about buying the vlc tugger? Its the most secure attachment.
 
Also, re: the traction not remaining the same.... It continues to reset until i'm stretching my penis well beyond what i feel i should be, like 18cm and beyond (2cm+ past my SFL). And even then the bars are barely resting at the traction I want them to. If they will not remain at 900g, I don't see how I will eventually get them to 1200g or 1500g

I also am not feeling any real stretch in the shaft. I'm wondering if I have a fundamental misunderstanding of how to use the SG....

I understand the process is a long one. But from everything I've read, it just doesn't sound like I'm doing it correctly (or my device may be defective)

I've already done a month of "warming up" by initially wearing the extender for short amounts of times and gradually increasing it. I'm stretching as little as .5cm past my SFL, with very little tightness in the noose/strap, which i've fastened .5"-1" behind the glans....

Yet the traction of the device will not remain the same even after 20 minutes of adjustment... i.e. I set it to 900g (the first mark on the hexagonal rods) and after a while the penis acclimates and the traction goes back to neutral, instead of holding firm, so i add more traction by extending the bars, etc.... this continues until I'm stretched to such a length that I slip out of the noose/strap. Also, I don't feel any sort of stretch

I'm very interested in the VLC mod, but unfortunately I'm in Korea and the shipping would probably be killer

Don't worry about the traction just as long as you're stretching at least 1 cm longer than normal. Do you wear it pointing forward? If yes point it to the ground, and you might get a better stretch feeling.

Okay. I took your advice and ignored the traction, making sure to stretch at about 17cm. I also put some more cotton padding on than i had been before. I still got some discoloration and coldness, but it wasn't as bad this time. My plan for now is to give it at least a 5 minute break every hourish... i may not always be able to massage it since the nature of my work doesn't allow for me to take extended breaks, but right now this is better than nothing

So I am happy to see Temp is working with you. I am also glad that you understand the difference in permanent discoloration and temporary.

So at this point I'm assuming discoloration, even borderline blue/purple-color, is normal, and that I'm supposed to take a 5+ minute break every hour. I don't have long breaks, but I use this time to massage and manually stretch the penis. The problem with coldness has almost dissipated for whatever reason... I still get coldness, but it's not as severe

The reason I've been so cautious is that from everything I've read, I figured coldness and/or discoloration + prolonged period of time = nerve damage

Also, I notice that a short while after strapping in, I sometimes feel a sort of burning sensation in the shaft. Not sure if I should be concerned

A burning sensation is good. A shooting electrical pain, or heavy numbness are signs of nerve damage. Your routine is very good keep on truckin

Thanks for the support and information, and you too DLD. You guys are really helping me clear up a lot of confusion

I've noticed many guys on this forum talking about staying strapped in for very long sessions. DLD, you mentioned that if i'm getting discoloration, i should be taking breaks every hour. Does this mean that these guys are probably not getting discoloration? I can't imagine it would be safe to stay strapped in for 6-12 hours with the level of discoloration I'm getting... but it is kind of a hassle to excuse myself to the bathroom for 10 minutes every hour, especially if I'm at work

One more thing i've been wondering... how do you know when it's time to increase the traction/add bars/increase the length you're stretching at?

Discoloration in the SizeGenetic is ALWAYS temporary, color will return after you have taken it off. This takes maybe 10 minutes tops. I would only stay in the SizeGenetic for 30-60 minutes before taking it off, returning good circulation and restart in. Now, this break also gives you the opportunity to tighten up the traction, which can loosen over an hour.
 
I don't think anyone is wearing a strap type extender for 6-12 hours without taking it off for breaks. I've been using one for a good while now, and I can go a little over 2 hours now, as you get accustomed to it and fine tune your wrap, you should be able to increase your time between breaks too. Sometimes I still screw up the wrap or attachment and have to cut it short, but you'll know from the feeling when that happens.
