I'm sure this has been asked many times before, but I'm just really curious (and lazy)... How does all this work?

I've been doing DLD's program for about a week now, and I mean, it feels good, and I am confident that I will grow, but I just don't know how... so here's a few questions for anyone to answer:

1) What do the stretches do? How are they making me longer?
2) What do the jelqs do? And how do those make me any bigger?
3) What does massaging my balls and pulling them apart from my penis do to increase growth?

I'm just interested in how it's affecting me down there... and if it is anything like weight lifting, how is it possible to cement these gains in?

dont even bother asking, people post legitamate info and research explaining and defuncting several theories of pe and people just reject them and refuse to listen to reasonable observations and never actually try to apply them and then a week later are still frustrated and then act like theyve had an epiphany and use the same idea and act like theyve found the fountain of youth (swm). i just dont understand why people refuse to listen to reason and logic but will follow blind ideas like a dog if a big poster tells him too. And now, some useful info will follow :)

Penis Enlargement works on the basis of exercising the muscle structures of the penis, known as CORPUS CANVERNOSUM, which makes up 2/3rds of the penis.

Your current penis size is determined by the amount of blood that your CC can hold when you have an erection.

With exercise the CC can be developed to be larger and stronger so that it can hold more blood giving you an increase in penis size.

The corpora cavernosa is a spongy tissue containing distensible blood spaces, which increase in size when blood is pumped into it. And it is similar in construction to the pore cells in marine life called sponges.

When the pore cells in a live sponge are stretched repeatedly its absorption pores will expand and heal in this expanded state. Thus, the pore cells will become larger and more capable of absorbing more water and nutrients.

The corpora cavernosa is a live tissue that repsonds similarly as a sponge. Therefore, the actual size of the erectile tissue will increase as the distensible blood spaces increase their ability to absorb more blood, under the continuos stretching and healing of exercises. Thus, a larger penis can be achieved via exercises.

Studies have shown that muscle cells (including the corpora cells within the penis) are surrounded by thin sheaths of connective tissue that are considered to be simialr to tough layers of plastic wrap, snugly surrounding each cell.

For each cell to enlarge, these connective tissues must be stretched. Your body responds to physical stimulation and exercises by growing and adapting to changes and the various stressors exerted. Due to this innate ability, muscle fibres stretch and grow to accomodate exercise, along with the tendons and ligaments. The penis is made up of muscle tissue, but the ligaments attaching it to the pubic bone affect it.

To increase the size (especially length) of your penis, the connective layers that surround the erectile tissues have to be stretched.When these pre-existing cells in your penis are forced to increase in size, over time you will achieve a larger and more muscular penis.

Good stuff. Here's a thread I posted at another (non-Penis Enlargement related) forum. Some of it is a little over-simplified because the people there are not Penis Enlargement scholars like some people here. ;)

Many people think that the idea of penis enlargement is just preposterous. Most people are led by "medical professionals" to believe that the only way to enlarge your penis permanently is through surgery. Some people think that maybe pills can work. But very few believe you can actually enlarge your penis by exercising it. "It isn't a muscle," they say, "so how could an exercise make it bigger?" I have talked to nurses and doctors that tell me "Everyone knows that the penis enlargement 'phenomenon' is a big hoax. You get what you're born with."

WRONG!

In this thread I'm going to explain how to lengthen your penis through manual stretching exercises. I do these every morning. It takes about 20 minutes altogether and works very well. One thing I'm not going to say, however, is that you can gain 1-3 inches in a matter of weeks. 1-2 inches is definitely a reasonable goal, but it may take up to a year or even more to get this kind of gain. Before I tell you how to lengthen your penis, though, I'll need to explain a little about penis anatomy (it's probably more complex down there than you know).

I'm sure every man that has the slightest interest in Penis Enlargement has seen something similar to this:

LIG STRETCHES
Many penis enlargement sites say that the only way to enlarge your penis is to expand the corpus cavernosum so that it will hold more blood when erect. While this is one effective way to add size, it is not the only way. Another way is to stretch the suspensory and fundiform ligaments. If you grab your penis by the head and pull it straight down, you can feel the stretch in your suspensory ligament. If you feel right at the base of your penis with your other hand, you'll be able to tell exactly where the ligament is. The best way to stretch this ligament is straight down or between the cheeks (BTC). The fundiform ligaments attach to either side of your penis, also at the base. If you stretch your penis to one side, you should feel a pull in one of your fundiform ligaments. You can also feel this ligament with your hand while pulling.

Advantages of lig stretching:
1) works relatively quickly
2)ligs are not as tough as the tunica (covered later)

Disadvantages of lig stretching:
1) possibility of lowered erection angle (you can get around this)
2) possibility of hair growth further up the shaft (you can also get around this)
3) possibility of "turkey neck" scrotum (guess what--you can also get around this!)
4) base girth may be slightly thicker than midshaft girth due to pulling out of the inner penis

TUNICA STRETCHING
The tunica is a layer of very tough fibrous tissue that surrounds the corpus cavernosum (CC) and corpus spongiosum (CS). In between the CCs and the CS, the tunica forms the septum. (not shown on picture). The septum is extremely tough, but there are exercises that mainly target the septum. The tunica is much more difficult to stretch than the ligs, but stretching the tunica makes girth gains easier, because in order for the CCs to be made bigger for more blood flow, the tunica must be stretched in order to allow for this expansion. So not only does tunica stretching add length, it also opens the door for girth gains. The best angle to stretch the tunica is straight up. You won't feel as much of a burn as you do with the lig stretch, but you should still feel a good stretch. There are several other ways to stretch the tunica. They are called fulcrum stretches, because you use your other hand as a fulcrum.

The V-stretch
This is one of my favorite tunica stretches. It especially targets the septum, which is very hard to stretch. Without stretching the septum it will be very hard to make any tunica gains.
To do this stretch, you pull straight up with one hand, just like a normal tunica stretch. With the other, press down in the middle of your penis to make a V shape with your penis. You should feel a much better stretch than with a normal straight up stretch. Move your fulcrum hand to several different points on your penis to get the best stretch.

The A stretch
This stretch is fairly easy, although I don't really use it that much because I prefer the V stretch. It doesn't target the septum as much, but is a good tunica stretch. To do this stretch, with your left hand pull your penis straight out in front of you. Put your right hand underneath your penis and grab your left wrist. Now with your left hand stretch your penis over your right arm. It should resemble an "A" with your left hand being the left side ( / ) and your penis being the right side ( \ ). Your right hand will be the line in between ( - ).

Bundled stretch
Only try this after you have been stretching your tunica for a while. This is a very intense stretch, especially if you combine it with a fulcrum stretch (either A or V).
To do this stretch, you should twist your penis around 1-2 times (as much as you can) and pull straight up like a normal tunica stretch. You should feel a stronger pull than a normal straight up stretch. You can also do bundled A and V stretches. To do these, just bundle your penis and perform the stretch like normal. I find that bundled V stretches are very effective.

Advantages of tunica stretching:
1)may open the door for more girth gains
2)no hair growth on the shaft of the penis
3)less of a "turkey neck" scrotum
4)no lowered erection angle
Disadvantages of tunica stretching:
1)takes much longer than lig stretches
2)tunica is a lot harder to stretch than ligs

HOW TO GET AROUND LIG STRETCHING PROBLEMS

1)lowered erection angle

To get around this problem, you should train your PC muscle every day and make it very strong. This will also make your erections MUCH harder, and allow you to shoot further when you ejaculate.

2)hair growth on the shaft of the penis (more of a problem for circumsized guys)

Nobody wants hair 2 inches up their shaft. To get around this, stretch your shaft skin to allow for more growth room. The reason your penis gets hair on the shaft is that your inner penis is coming out of your body. It pulls the skin at the base of your penis along with it as it grows, so the hair comes along for the ride. Here is a good exercise for stretching the shaft skin. This is a quote from SizeItUp at the Matters of Size forum.

"Without lube, hold the skin back at the base as far as you can. Then do an OK grip about the area of your circumcision scar and stetch the skin in between. Do this ten minutes a day and you will increase the amount of skin on your shaft. Then when you stretch your dick, the extra skin mid-shaft will releave the pressure on the base skin."

3)"turkey neck" scrotum

This means that your scrotum is attached higher up your penis than normal. This is easy to get around. The method is similar to the hair issue, except applied to your scrotum. If you stretch your scrotum skin out, especially near where it attaches to the base of your penis, you won't have this problem.

4)base girth is thicker than midshaft girth

This is not really a big deal, especially if you jelq regularly, because jelqing will increase girth especially higher up the penis. A lot of people who jelq for girth but don't do lig stretches have a "baseball bat" shape to their penis. So if you stretch your ligs AND jelq or do Ulis (I'll cover Ulis in another thread) then your girth should be even throughout.

i jelq and stretch and my base is considerably bigger i dont want to stop stretching so how do you get around that any info would be great
 
blue I know how you feel. You will hit this in every area of life trust me. Don't think that no one is thinking and listening to your ideas though.

Have you been to the alternative forum with the chemical ideas?

LuckyLuke I am glad you are asking these questions. When we get a scientific understanding of how the penis responds to stresses. We can find what stresses cause the penis to add size specifically. Then its just a matter of applying those stresses. And giving adequate time for the penis to recover before stressing it again.

And whoever said it is dead on, your body responds to most stresses by adding size and strength. If you've shaken a manual labourers hand you know what I mean. Not just is the hand stronger but the bones are thicker and stronger as well.

Should you be hard or soft? Or does it Matter?

Can anybody expand on this mine goes halfway up my dick. Do you just grab the skin at the top of the TN and your head and pull at opposite directions?
