well, i've been hanging for about a week so far and i'm starting to notice a lot of sensitivity loss especially in certain spots on my penis. i can get erect with some work, but it's kind of hard to stay hard. i'm really starting to worry and i'm getting kind of scared here. i'm not doing that many sets and i've been tinkering with the adjustments and wrap . i started with 5 lbs, but i wasn't really feeling the lig pull with it even doing BTC. so i just used the 5 for a few days to stretch the skin a little, then upped the weight to 8 lbs. with 8, i feel the lig stretch and it's great. one problem i noticed more when using 8 though, is that even with the top teeth meshed almost completely and with virtually every alteration or combination i try with the settings, the hanger seems to slip foward to behind the head or almost behind the head. i'm thinking that it's probably the wrap b/c i switched from theraband to the softer more cusioned ace bandage. with the ace bandage, it's more comfortable but it does seem to slip or rather bunch up behind and on the head when hanging . i'm only putting on enough to go around 3 times on my penis. come to think of it, the theraband also was giving me problems with slippage so i just don't know anymore. i don't know what to do. i really want to hang but this sensitivity thing is frustrating and scary to say the least.

gorilla,

I guess so. Just in a paragraph or two, I see many problems.

>i can get erect with some work, but it's kind of hard to stay hard. i'm really starting to worry and i'm getting kind of scared here. i'm not doing that many sets and i've been tinkering with the adjustments and wrap . i started with 5 lbs, but i wasn't really feeling the lig pull with it even doing BTC. so i just used the 5 for a few days to stretch the skin a little, then upped the weight to 8 lbs. with 8, i feel the lig stretch and it's great.<

You have been hanging for a week, and are up to a "few sets" at eight pounds? Do you think this is wise, since you have no experience hanging ?

>one problem i noticed more when using 8 though, is that even with the top teeth meshed almost completely and with virtually every alteration or combination i try with the settings, the hanger seems to slip foward to behind the head or almost behind the head.<

You will have to go over exactly what you are doing, giving all the parameters you use. Pics would be great. It sounds as if you might have a small upper shaft/head, the way I did when I started. Have you wrapped for upper shaft/head girth when warming up before hanging ?

The top teeth should not be completely meshed, or very close to it. The top gap needs to just be smaller than the bottom gap. If you adjust the hanger to where there is no top gap, there is little chance you can tighten enough.

As the product guide says, the more wrap , the more slippage. Especially with a wrap that is volumous like Ace wrap . Three times around is a lot. Try to use something thinner like elastic sweatshirt material.

Don't mess with the sensitivity thing. You need to cut way back on your hanging , especially till you learn how to properly. After one week, you should read the product guide again. It will make a lot more sense.

well, i have to say that i went to 🙈's yesterday night and read and read and read some more. i learned a lot and jotted down a bunch of things i could change or do better from what i was doing. i also regained pretty much all my sensitivity back late last night. some of the main changes i made were: i'm using the ace bandage still but a lot less, placing my hanger a lot further behind the head (but not too high), i made the bottom gap bigger, and am tightening the top teeth more (i had thought that i was already making this tight, but i wasn't). i'm also tightening the teeth slowly and allowing my shaft to adjust in the hanger . oh yeah, and i made my sets last between 15 and 18 minutes rather than the full 20 unless i'm feeling like i can handle it.

i know you think i'm being rash and foolish by using 8 pounds so soon, but after the recent adjustments, 8 doesn't even phase me. it's actually quite comfortable. (here's where you're probably going to yell at me)...so i upped it again today to 10.5 lbs for a full set and it felt good. no pain. no problems. it seems that my penis is adjusting pretty rapidly. okay now you can yell at me.

Don't be worried about changing things around. I constantly try new wraps, techniques, settings, etc. I don't recall keeping the same hanger settings for longer than a week, this was with no girth work. I learned a lot from just playing with the settings. One thing for sure in my case was a comfortable setting today might not be so comfy tommorrow.

I do think you might be using too much weight. You might not even need 8 lbs., I don't really understand why guys rush to add weight after the first 20 minute set with no fatigue. Sometimes it would take a week for the soreness to settle in, it usually felt like I had been hit with a ball bat in the lower abdomen. When the soreness was present, there was no need to add weight, unless I wanted to enhance the sensations.

Thanks

so far, i feel the soreness internally right above where the shaft meets the pubic bone...not in my lower abs.

btw, what have your results been from hanging ? any gains in girth or length ? also, what does your hanging routine look like and for how long have you been doing it? thanks.

With the results I can't help you much as far as inches go, but visually it is much longer, I may measure in December. The girth has increased in the base, and also my head seems to have enlarged. I have not hung in a month, I'm trying to straighten out some uneven skin displacement due to ignorance on my behalf.

When I was going for the gold I was hanging 3,4, sometimes 5 hours daily 7 days a week. My max weight when hanging one hour daily was 34 lbs., after increasing the time, I was able to drop down to 13-14 lbs.. I purchased the Starter Oct. '03. I will start again when things are in order and I increase my upper shaft girth more through half shaft jelqs and wraps. I've been trying the BTB jelqs , which seem to be very promising.

The best advice I can give you is keep in mind hanging has a lot of 'cause and effect", try to keep everything balanced.

thanks

Knowledge is great. The simple fact is, when you make a mistake hanging , the consequences are much less at 2-3 lbs than at 8-10 lbs. When you are learning, the lower weight is much safer.

For what it is worth....

What you might find is that while you don't experience any fatigue after only one short set at 8 pounds, you will probably notice the fatigue in greater amounts in the sets that will follow. This is how it is with me at least, and tissue is tissue, so it might work for you.

I went through the loss of sensitivity thing earlier this year and Bigger, Captain and others adivised me to lay off for a while and come back slowly. I took their advice and everything is pretty good for now. I think if I would have used 8 lbs. and then 10.5 pounds right off the bat I would have had more trouble. I also try to spread the hanging out throughout the day from sun up to right before bed to keep it fatigued. This has kept me in fatigue and has kept me to hanging with 5 lbs., then to 7.5 lbs after about three months and now to only the morning sessions (3 or 4) with 10 lbs. after three more months or so, and then backing off back to the 7.5 lbs. for the remainder of the day. Between using different angles and spreading it out like this I have been able to stay injury free since earlier this year and make steady gains.
