I just started hanging about two weeks ago. I started with 5 lbs, quickly moved to 7.5 lbs, then about a week later moved to 10 lbs, and almost immediately afterward went to 12.5 lbs. The only painful experience I have during hanging is from not really doing a good job with the wrap, yet. It's skin pain that I attribute to the rubber pinching when the wrap gets progressively tighter as I'm wrapping. That's something I think I can work out on my own. The real question concerns the pain I feel when I remove this heavier weight that I've been doing lately.

I'm hanging for 30 minutes, once a day, and toward the end I really feel a burn. At the end of the set, when I lift the chain and take tension off my penis, I get a shock of pain. I don't know if it is because of blood rushing back into the tissue, if it is from the strain being relaxed, or what. I thought I'd post to see if this was normal or something to be concerned with.

Thanks!

You should not hang longer than 20 min a set.
This is not a phrase/catch phrase, this is the truth.
I'm still new to hanging and have not so much experience with hanging like some others here.
But there is something that i know:Don't hang longer than 20 min a set.
I hang only 20 min.But i can imagine, if I'm hanging 30 min in one piece,i would have the same problem as you.
YOu must have some big discoloration, don't you?

Maybe unattach the weights slowly... that might help. If you already do that, then I don't know why it would hurt.

I'd also back down on the time too. Make it a 20 minute set. See if that works.

You gotta listen to your unit. Everyone is different. I hang for an hour at one time. I have never heard of anyone doing this. I cant always get an hour but 8 times out of 10. It all depends on the wrap. If you get discoloration or get cold, numb STOP!!!

This is the same mistake i made when started to hang, i left it on too long and there was numbness and its because I started hanging at like an hour at a time with 8lbs on there haha....just use sets of 20 like the vets say, try it out and maybe work your way up to 25-30 at a time if your comfortable with it.. :D

yea man 15-20 minute sets work for me sometimes i go over to 25. See how tight your clamp is too cuz it made marks in my skin and it was extremely uncomfortabler takin off the wrap afterwards ( i use ace banage self adhesive)

I'll try backing it down to 20 minutes, today, and see if there's any difference.

No, I don't get a lot of discoloration, coldness, or numbness. I monitor the end closely for all of that, touching it every so often to make sure I can still feel it.

I don't recall who posted it, but there's a sticky beginner's routine that listed 45 minutes for the hanging. (I just went and read that post again, and it does say 45 minutes per day, not per session -- doh!) I also read lots of posts about 20 minutes. That's why I settled on 30 minutes. Is there some science behind the 20 minutes?

Okay, I just finished hanging with the same weight (12.5 lbs) for a shorter duration (20 min) and still experienced the same shock when I went to remove the weight.

Any other ideas? I'm really diggin' the hanging, and can already tell a difference in my gains (although I'm trying to resist measuring until I've had time to make some noticable gains).

Brugga-
The "science" behind limiting set duration to 20 minutes has its roots in the fact that permanent tissue damage due to oxygen deprivation will set in at the 17-18 minute mark.

This assumes total circulation loss for that period of time. 20 minutes is a safe balance (and a nifty round number) that provides a safety zone. We count on the fact that total circulation shut down is not occurring from the outset, more likely circulation is slowed considerably during a hanging set.

As for the pain you are experiencing as you relieve your weight - I think this can be expected. However, I can't help but notice that you have gone up in weight at a considerable pace. You are likely not conditioned to handle the amount you are hanging.

Try not to move up so fast. This is not a race. Penis Enlargement takes time - expect that, embrace that, and you will avoid injury.
Also consider this: the faster you move up in weight the more you are resigned to requiring heavier and heavier weights to reach fatigue. If it took you one week to double your weight and it will take one year to reach your goal - well, shit - I don't know the exact math but if you continued at that pace you would be hanging eight tons off your unit by this time next year. Slow down. Use time more than weight to accomplish this task.

And by "time" I don't mean hanging for longer sets - I mean hanging for more sets. You ideally want to put in ten or more hours per week.

Remember: You want to hang the bare minimum amount of weight to necessary to reach fatigue.

Hi Captn,
i ask you this in another thread, but you don't answer me directly.
How many hours are you hanging per day?

Sorry Dex, I guess I missed that.

I hang as many hours as my day allows so it's a bit difficult to provide an accurate number. I can say that it is always more than 10 hours a week. There are some days when I do as many as eight twenty minute sets - other days when I do four - sometimes even less.

I hang with very light weight for someone who has been at it for a while. This is why I put in the hours. I prefer to let time do the work, with weight taking a back seat.

As someone new to hanging... what kind of results have some of you veterans gotten from hanging? How long did it take? etc...

I get that pain too when I stretch really hard for a while and release. Kind of like an indian burn in reverse? It is pretty normal.

Sorry about the double post but I forgot to say that it is harmless. But listen to these guys about the duration.
