This thread is pretty straight forward and I would like many responses :) No tricks or hidden agenda's, finger pointing or scoring points. I just want to get an idea across the world what the picture is like on racial issues, cultural issues or whatever else you dub it as.

Example if you live in France what is it like for the ethnic minorities which isn't a phrase I like to use, sounds awful but need to type it here for the point to be made. Americans chime in on the issue such as black people, Mexican, puerto rican etc 'cos us in Europe have no idea on that .. never covered.

The UK is pretty close with its races and different peoples. Just see the England football or rugby teams .. got a nice mixture but all English. We have the usual boundaries in the cities with gang cultures black, white, Asian etc that go around doing shit. Overall though from my experiences is pretty gelled but I feel in some Northern cities the Asian community is being targeted more then others, with themselves feeling alienated and that makes um feel less British.

This whole terrorism issue past 12 years or so has made it more difficult for such men & women with roots in Northern, Eastern Africa & Middle East to fit in as they become branded bad from what some tit done 1000's of miles away.

More success is coming along in the police and government with different races now being represented instead of just white. We are quite tolerant and are not racist, with anyone welcome to the UK with any religion or belief .. no beliefs also fine. I just think with what has gone down over 10 years and the sudden influx of mass migrant workers from the EU such as Poland, Slovakia, Czech Rep etc etc the Brits have started losing patience and lashing out at anyone who doesn't look 'right'.

Overall though we're doing good from what we were like 15-20 years ago. Black people are much more equal then they ever were and given the respect they should have along with our Asian brothers and sisters. To me we are all one anyway and I love nothing better then seeing a cosmopolitan city with mixed cultures, people, food, music ... its sensational .... London is such a place and I'm PROUD of that I really am .. makes me very happy to see everyone getting on no matter what religion they are, if even just for that hour ... Britain has a very important role to play in building bridges with many cultures ... after all the UK ruled a massive portion of the globe, colonialism they call it but that in the long run has helped us all understand one another.

I`m born in germany but my parents come from croatia. Im also feeling like Im from croatia, it feels like my home. Maybe it is because of the beatiful Beaches and seaside or the wonderful music...maybe i wouldnt feel me at home in croatia if I would be from another maybe more "boring" country without such a nice seaside There are 1325 islands in europe in one country...its amazing

Im living in munich so i cant speek for the eastern part of germany but i think its okay here. There are little "strange" things but i show them with words that they cant beat me,that Im better then them...if school graduation or physical strange.
if there is something that germans dont like then turkmens. but this hype is also going down...so i havent got the feeling that here is extreme racism. On the university i cant hear/see anything maybe in less skilled worker jobs. for example there a people from poland/bulgaria/... which works for 6 euro official but only gets 3. Stuff like that is happening.

I was for 5 weeks in london the people with who i was talking told me that they thought that in croatia is actually war...i thought only "wtf"?

and sorry for me bad english

Here's just a quickie.

I'm pretty sure my great-grandfather borrowed this line from Will Rogers (mostly 'cuz I can't imagine the exchange actually workin' the other way round); when he encountered a "holier-than-thou" society matron who bragged about..."My ancestors came to this country on the Mayflower!"
He responded with a "Yeah, well, mine was here to greet 'em!"

Where of you been my brother? I worry because I haven’t seen you in so long and you’re such a staple here on the forum . I hope this bump brings you back

I'm noticing more prejudice in the UK as we leave the EU.

Most I know, or spoke with that wanted to leave, cite control of borders, and getting rid of foreign workers.

How I see it, is you control your own border's as an island, as we are, and we need foreign workers, especially doctor's.

How's prejudice, racism in your country.

Well....
I am from India....
And India is basically known for its diversity......
So I can say that there is no racism in India "officially"...... However I have seen people(including people closest to me) being racists to other castes, minorities and people from different culture or religion......

I will give a bit of a different perspective on this answer for my world of these United States.

In my little piece of things, I am kinda damn proud to be able to say the barriers are coming down and it is fun to watch.

To make my point I am not going to quote this article or that show but give a real life example.

I would be in that grouping of redneck Christians... ya’ll know all the stereotypes that go with that.

Well, just for one example (and I can list dozens and dozens) I love to redneck dance. Yeah, I know ya’ll are shocked, LMAO.
Well ten years ago the redneck dance establishment were very... uh, very monochrome with the cliental, every now and again some ‘others’ would stop by to check it out but never to be seen again. I am sure they were uncomfortable and I am also sure many were not looking to make them feel comfortable.
Fast forward to the last couple of years and the number of people (multi races) now having fun with this group has increased exponentially. And the real tell tale is they feel welcome to the point they come back next week and the next.

I am not saying they don’t have to deal with some assholes at times but over all, it is visually different and improved.

Just an example... I can go on.
Very proud many of the old barriers are coming down though even you won’t see these stories on tv, the web, or the news.

Happy Valentines Day Y'big dicked bastid you!
Thanks for the bump; glad it wasn't a pump in the rump, y'know?
I'm just gonna give the abridged version here; second litter o' kids, moved out in the woods, homeschooling, double knee surgery.
Locals found out that I'm as easy as a high school chick graduating with triplets-I just can't say "NO"...so I was on every damn committee, board, coaching position, blah, blah, blah...Finally throttling back and I'm gonna start hangin' around more often and catch back up with the upgrades I see you guys've made, place looks damn good!

Now, to add my two more cents to the thread. Any "ism" always relys upon the individual for its perpetuation. It also relys upon individual denial for its expiration.

Good to be back guys.

Certainly good to have you back and I’m glad you chimed in on this topic as it’s such a hot button issue right now for society.
