Hi, I've been pumping on/off for a few years. In the past, I would get thick/puffy and really liked it. Now, I get hard and do not get puffy/thicker. The veins start feeling hard so I quit. What's up with that and how do i get back to puffy? That's where I saw gains.

Hard veins are definitely not a good sign, it could be a sign of thrombosis. What pressure are you using? How is your erection quality? I would use lower pressure for a longer period of time and cycle pressure to get expansion, but you don't want to be "puffy" since that is usually caused by fluid retention. What the goal should be is a "plump" sort of meaty expansion that can lead to permanent gains. If you are air pumping, try 5-7 hg for 5 min, then cycle down to 2 hg for 30 sec. to 1 min. Then back up to 5-7 hg, and repeat as needed. If you use penomet or bathmate, use the 5x5x3 method. Either of these methods will get you the expansion you want, hope that helps.

Meaty is a better way of saying that....not puffy as in fluid retention. Thanks for the suggestion

No problem man, let us know how it goes, hopefully that does the trick. Usually after cycling my air pump like that for 30-45 minutes I had a solid fatty, haha! Just be careful not to get carried away, slow and steady wins the race. I upgraded to a bathmate and you get the expansion quicker, and it feels like it pulls on the inner parts of the penis better. Always a good option as well, if you don't mind dropping some cash.

Girth growth will be harder and more solid than retention. Fluid retention will feel puffy and soft while tissue growth is more solid and dense. Continue with your BathMate as you were on the road to great gains.

I haven't touched my air pump since I started with the bathmate last September, but I figured I'd share past experiences with air pumps and try and help a brother out.

Why would you? :) The BathMate rocks!

Hard veins are what you don't want, because more then likely those are thrombosis veins. This is a small blood clot in one of the veins of your penis and could slow down girth gains. I've had one for over a year and a half now, but it was never tender or painful so I've never really stopped training. By now my vein is just a dead vein and doesn't really have an effect on me.

I am Puffy but Biggie makes me hard!

This comment happens to be what I'm doing. I said it before, no one should pump more than 7hg. Very solid advice. You are indeed experienced with pumping. What's your current girth size now? Dry pumping is what I have chosen because wet pumping will cause rusting on my mityvac pump. I get meaty expansion. No fluid build-up at all.
