PLYOMETRICS are an exercise that has a mental function more than a physical one. For some people they may feel sore after doing these but this is really not the goal. The main objective is to reset the Proprioceptor function or "stretch detectors". Any given muscle, ligament or tunica for that matter, has a pre-determined, recorded reaction to any given stimuli. In this case the goal change the way our ligs, tunica and any smooth muscle lengthen by using sharp, strong, jerks.
PLYOMETRICS are only a supplement to a solid stretching session, not a substitute.
