Wow I saw this story last week, and it's so taken outta context for what it was IMHO.

Everyone knows president Trump doesn't think before he opens that mouth, and he should have done his research before suggesting all four go back to where they came from, but, I don't see that comment as racist, just his narcissistic ignorance at that time.

I've heard people here in the UK say to one another to leave the country if they think it so bad, or if they come from abroad slagging it off, get told to go home.

One of those women is said to have played down the 9/11 attacks, not sure how true that is though.

From looking at the squad, listening to them I don't reckon they help the cause, as they fell into Trump's retoric.

He knows exactly how to divert attention off himself by deflection, and smoke. In fact he is marvellous at it, too good in fact.

I think he's a big mouth, who doesn't give a shit about other nations bar the USA.

His Americans first policy is admirable, but he isn't putting all Americans first.

Notice how he claimed one of the squad was anti Israel. Most of the USA Senate is Jewish, so, he has them all Sweet.

I think he does care about the state's, and wouldn't sell you guys short, but he's too ruthlessly one dimensional it's obvious when he swings.

The whole squad shit just looking more like girl power to me. No dought they are biased against Trump, with him banging on about walls, immigration, rumours he's sexist.

For those that hate Trump, who is the alternative? a bent cunt like Clinton? at least this president is very direct, no bullshit with him at all .... I like this much about him, and his love of USA.

Looks like Boris Johnson will be British prime minister on Tuesday, and if he is successful in getting the UK outta the EU, a trade deal with Trump beckons.

It's not going to be easy getting out. I see it getting either halted, taking the deal May did originally, or if a people's choice is allowed because parliament over here CANNOT agree on shit.

Trump has successfully made them the face of the Democrat party, at least for now. I don’t think they’re making the Democratic caucus very happy either, Pelosi is way too classy for these whipper snappers!. I think both parties want them to go.CC0E1477-26C5-4E0B-8A79-FD7D22E33E37.jpeg

You asked for it, Red. ;)

The tweet wasn't racist, and that's not an opinion it's a fact. It wasn't particularly helpful or constructive, but that doesn't make it racist. The worst it can be read as is xenophobic, and even then you have to make some pretty questionable assumptions about WHY he said what he said.

He did better when he backed off and changed the argument a bit, saying they were free to leave if they hated the US so much. "If you don't like it then you can leave" is not a functional argument against any particular position someone might have, BUT the more the person you're addressing seems to dislike the nation fundamentally, the more it raises the question "well... why are you here then?"

If we want to talk racist, Ayanna Pressley literally told a crowd that homosexuals, muslims, and black people should either promote her politics or shut up. She's literally and explicitly promoting tribal politics, there's no need to read anything into it. And this is why Trump can get away with just about anything. No matter what he says, his opponents will rush to prove they're 100x crazier.

I'm honestly not sure if Pelosi and the Old Guard are in control anymore. The 2020 Democratic primary thus far suggests that The Squad is, in fact, the future of the Democratic party.

One of those women is said to have played down the 9/11 attacks, not sure how true that is though.
Ilhan Omar said of 9/11 "some people did something." Make of that what you will. It's certainly not how I would describe the murder of thousands by Islamic extremists, and the comment was not well received no matter how our intrepid "journalists" insist otherwise.

Best of luck reclaiming your national sovereignty, Red. We here across the pond are cheering for you. To have one of your own leaders publicly announce that they aren't willing to leave without a deal is preeeeeeeeetty incredible. I can't imagine he'd be where he is if he didn't know how to negotiate, which leaves us with only the "blatant betrayal" option.

This is so spot on it's incredible. If the intersectional identity politics coalition manages to destroy the Western liberal values they so despise, they'll be slitting each other's throats the next day. They won't manage it, though. The cracks are already appearing.

Please refer to the book that's so often (mis)quoted and (mis)interpreted.

Exodus: Do not oppress a foreigner; you yourselves know how it feels to be foreigners, because you were foreigners.
Ezekiel: In you they have treated father and mother with contempt; in you they have oppressed the foreigner and mistreated the fatherless and the widow.
Galatians: There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Deuteronomy: He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing.
Hebrews: Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.

I'm no bible scholar, but can always choose to treat others as I wish to be treated and be humble enough to turn the other cheek. Trump is The President of the United States, FFS...maybe act like it. Any policy that I marginally can agree with is obliterated by the embarrassing behavior.
Is he a racist? no, he's much much worse, he an opportunist praying on whatever hate he can unleash within us. I refuse to take the bait.

Much love to all my MOS brothers!

You can't take Trump's tweets at face value. This guy is Art of War with them.

It's been said by some that he did it to put the spotlight on the farthest left branch of the Democrat party... and if that was his intent (I think it was) then it worked.

Just in time for the primaries, to redirect the attention away from the actual candidates over to the squad of "some people did some thing" and "concentration camps". The narcissists pushing climate change legislation... but admittedly (not by themselves...) as a means to change the economy.

They're socialists. Trump is well aware that their policies of open borders, reparations, tax increases, etc is VERY unpopular.

The squad loves attention and they'll waltz right back into the limelight, much to the chargin of their fellow party members. Pelosi's influence is being diminished.

His character is definitely his weakest point. The Republican party NEEDED someone with a little fight in them, but that needs to be tempered. He just punches everything in front of him all the time, which alienates voters like yourself, Big Schwanz.

I think there's also a generational divide on this point. My earliest memory of politics is the Monica Lewinsky scandal, and every election I've seen with the exception of Obama's first run was 90% filthy, wretched, disingenuous mudslinging, so the idea of "acting presidential" or having some sort of "honor" in politics rings pretty hollow for me. It's hard for me to take claims of Trump being the hate-monger seriously when 1) Maxime Waters is literally calling for her supporters to mob political opponents, 2) Democrats and media figures are explicitly labeling half the country "racist," "deplorable," etc, 3) Democratic figures are openly embracing socialism (talk about invoking the hatred within the human soul...), etc etc. From what I can tell, there are no rules and there haven't been for a long time.

I'm not saying that's a good thing, mind you. ;)

Who knows? Maybe he's playing 4D chess. I'm inclined to believe he's just got a big mouth and can't help but shoot it off regularly. Sometimes it works (because his opponents are widely reviled) and sometimes it blows up in his face.

There is no doubt that whichever party can keep the spotlight on their opponent will almost certainly win the 2020 election. When an entire stage of presidential hopefuls say they'll provide free healthcare for illegal immigrants you don't need to focus on 4 members of the party. When Bernie friggin' Sanders is the only one vocal about enforcing the border or the virtues of meritocracy, and the race-baiting that Dems have put up with for so long starts to turn inward (how's it feel, Pelosi? Biden?) the entire party has to own every bit of contempt thrown their way.

If they clean house now they could sweep Trump easily, but I don't see that happening.

Where is Red??

Trump! stated simply!
If you are not Happy in the US in anyway! You are free to Leave!

I think American politics is the equivalent of WWE wrestling. Everyone takes sides. This guy hates that guy, talks shit. They smack each other around in the ring. The fans boo, or cheer. But, they're all buddies when the cameras are off.

I do think that's accurate!

Yup, it was a circus before Trump came along. He just happens to thrive in that environment! And I think you're right about the buddy-buddy stuff behind the scenes. There's probably a lot more of that than people suspect...

I’m just having fun watching the whole thing go by

And the president has much less power than most people realize. It's mostly the people in congress and the senate who make the decisions that run the country. It's fun watching people make whichever president the scapegoat for whatever issue, or call this or that president better, or worse.

We have never been in a better place for the country to learn about civics!?
