A couple months ago the industry was hit with the HIV disease my question is does anybody here know any of the stars or people for that matter that were tested positive.

"Back in the day", John Holmes tested positive, he was one of the first stars to do so. He kept acting for a while regardless here stateside, once he was found out...he went over seas and acted for a while there too. Supposedly nobody reported being infected by him. Far as current stars...no big names anyway that I'm aware of.

I wouldnt go so far as to say the 'industry' was hit. LOL, more like one or two people were reported infected. Again, no big names. Most companies are very stringent with their STD testing, and youre more likely to catch HPV (warts), or Herpes than you are HIV. Both still annoying STDs that youre stuck with for life but, nothing near as severe.

Oh ok well when i heard about it on tv i heard ther were like 3 or 4 infected and like 50 were on quarantine. John Holmes died because of it right? Actually with a newcomer coming into HIV doesn't show up for 6 months so they could have it unless there is a 6 month wait on being a star but i haven't heard of that. I think this is going to be a major issue down the road, but thats just my opinion

I don't remember the name of all the stars but Darren James was the guy spreading it. At the time they had a big story about it on the AVN website with all the names involved do a search on avn.

before each production is made the big companies do require hiv tests from everyone involved, those who dont take part are replaced although there are some that get by that.

heres a list of quarantined, updated the merely a few days ago

Ya that sounds right to me. I don't see why a big company would risk something like that.

Those independant website companies seem to just find any girl who is down so they may have a problem later on.

There was at least another case a few years ago where a chick and about four guys got AIDS, from a massive anal gangbang movie.

From what I understand, they have tests now that can read positive results within 2 weeks, not 6 months like it used to be.

crazy two weeks i dont think that is possible. Pretty sure more of this test would be out thats a huge difference from six months Iam gonna check into it more. Pens got Recchi back what u think about this year?

Wow! Looking at that list really impressed me with how dangerous the industry can be. You just really don't think about it. One slip up and you're dead. On the other hand, it is good that these actors and actresses are being looked after.

There's another test that's been developed that supposedly only takes a few minutes.

That was my understanding from an article I read on the Darren James/Lara Roxx incident. The news broke in April if I'm not mistaken and they think James contracted HIV while doing a scene in Brazil, in March. So, it could have only been a few weeks, not six months.

As for Recchi, he'll be a great addition. He may be around 37 years old, but he plays at a younger level. There are a lot of guys that have hung around at age 37 that are not nearly as conditioned or skilled as Recchi. My prediction is a shortened season due to strike/lockout. I think the Pens will not be able to come back and play as an efficient unit in the short season and will miss the playoffs. However, they impressed the hell out of me the second half of the season and made some great roster moves for a change. My prediction is that the season after next, they'll solidify some playoff spot, but they're 3-4 years away from a real contender, depending on if the League gets someof the financial woes ironed out in these upcoming negotiations.

Dam Iam really glad to know they have a test that takes two weeks, or a couple of minutes thats even better. Iam not a male whore cuz i have a girlfriend but with all this exercising and shit i hope to be one someday LOL.

Ya the pens do have a couple of years until they are effective i saw they signed a couple of people after Recchi as well. The problem is though is everytime they get a player that is good or effective because they are a small market team they have to release them to trade them (except for Lemieux) anyways hopefully the will be better in the next coming yrs iam ready for a cup again

I didn't take time to check the link, but I would venture to say that the other test may take two mintues to get a read, but not for determination. I don't think there is any test you can take two minutes after exposure to HIV to determine if you in fact have the virus, which is what the two weeks refers to.

Supposedly, Kovalev wants to come back to the Penguins. He'll have to sign for less than he could get elsewhere if he really wants to play for an organization and community he enjoyed playing for, because there's no way Pittsburgh can fork over a Detroit caliber offering.
