Older Guys doing PE

Whats going on with the new forum?

Yes I think it would be GREAT.
But it must be for the OLDER members only, none of us young bastards going in their.....no one over a certain age, cos these guys need their privacy otherwise itll be the same as this forum.

Statements like 'My dad is fifty NO OFFENSE but that's old' strikes me not so much as offensive but as ignorant.

I'd like to participate in a forum where I won't be confronted with questions like why older guys need 'special' treatment.

I'm not asking for special treatment, just to be let alone with my peers and where my thread won't be hijacked by rampant sophomoric humor, antifemimist statements about pussy sizes, joking, and insensitivity. (Hey, not that fratboy humor doesn't have it's place, but I'm more into Bill Murray than Chris Rock.)

We have different needs as we grow up. You get to a certain age and sometimes find the desire for a quieter, calmer space where there are fewer exclamation points (and quieter engines).

Great post, David. You expressed my sentiments exactly! Of course if a younger guy is interested in something posted, he should feel free to express himself and feel comfortable doing so. In general, though, the forum would be for the older guys. I don't know that I would use the word mature because some of the younger guys are really mature from what I have read on the forum and I have learned much from them. We are mature as far as age goes, I guess.
