I noticed over the last year that my facial skin has become more oily. Especially the forehead area.

Does anyone know a good way to cure or at least control oily skin?

yo dude,

what's your age? and what do you eat?
try removing the fatties from the food. it's bad :p
fat absorption capsules might work for that and you can still eat the same you did before.

Try washing your face with a salicylic acid soap. A good one is by the brand neutrogena called Skin Clearing Face Wash. It will be in the shaving section next to their other products including shaving cream, lotion, and such. It will also help clear up breakouts.

I'm 30.

I do not eat that much fatty foods.

I do not have acne or break outs - just developed a higher level of facial oils over the last couple years.

BTW, I heard from that salicylic acid makes oily skin even worse. I try to avoid those, especially since I do not have breakouts.

I get oily skin as well,my doc said to use Cetaphil. These are mild soaps and do not dry out ur skin.Soaps like palmolive dry out ur skin so it reproduces more oil to counteract.

Thanks I will try Cetaphil and give it whirl.

Cetaphil is THE soap to use if your face is sensitive, for me its awesome

For oily face try using the b5 treatment, I hear it dries up the skin pretty well, works well for acne for some people too, not for severe acne though

whats the b5 treatment?
You take megadoses of b5. Usually 5-10 grams per day for the first month then 3gs maintenance after. Clears up alot of peoples acne and is good for drying oily skin. Search for "b5 acne" in google you'll find all you need.

LOL, i wash with normal hardcore drying soap morning and night. My skin can TRY to make its oils to counteract but it wont win :D

you really dont want to wash your face with soap too much. the more you dry it the more your face secretes oil to compensate for it leading to even more acne problems. simply washing your face with a mild soap once or twice a day or every once in a while and patting dry should clear up your face.

I have this problem too sometimes, but mostly its too dry. So I believe what Blue said about your skin compensating by producing more oil. I used to have acne, so I use Proactiv; but only once a day.
