"Need my fellow men's advice"

Well, it's been about a month since me and my ex-girlfriend broke up. We were together for over 2 years and I treated her terribly for the last couple months. She eventually told me to take a hike and I didn't have any problem with it. As time goes on though, it's getting harder to take. It's like I realize now what I had and how much of a jerk I was.

Should I even try to get back with her? And if so, how should I go about it?

Give her some space, then try to show her a different you. Suprise her with stuff now and then, be mysterious. If you really want her back then you need to change your ways. If you do not want her back move on.

Thanks for the advice supra. I've been giving her space and have been slowly changing my ways.

I never really realized how much of a dick I was towards her. I always felt like I was so much better than her. Guess it's true what they say, you don't realize what you've got until it's gone.

Supra's advice is spot on. I really don't have anything to add. Now all you need to do is decide if you really want to be with her or not. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do.

Spektrum -- If you decide to go back, first make sure that that it was not solely the absence that made your heart grow fonder.

I went through something similar. I was with this chick almost 4 years actually, and we brokeup (this was about 2 years ago). It seemed like all her friends and their family, etc were all against me ( some of them were because they had their own issues, which I wont get into),. I thought I would do what you are doing and plot my way to get back together, but I didn't. In fact, even though she brokeup we me and hated me at the time, any attempts at contact since then were on her part. Now I am glad we brokeup. I felt trapped in the situation.

My advice is though. Either way, wether you get back or not. The only way it will work is NO CONTACT. You probably wont want to do it and it may be difficult and sound weird, but breakoff all contact. If you ignore her, even though she dumped you; she will most likely eventually pursue you. And if she doesnt there is no point in trying anyway. But the point is to MOVE-ON, with or without her. Maybe eventually she will comeback, but plan on moving on without her.

I think you're right here. I've pretty much decided not to get back with her.

I've realized a lot since we've broken up and even though I care about her, it wouldn't be the best idea in the world.

There are millions of girls out there and things just didn't work out. In time, I will find someone else.

Thanks for this post, I plan on moving on, like you have said.

It's just hard to become single after being with someone for so long. This isn't a good reason to stay with them though.
