Mayor combative during legal deposition
Detroit News |
"Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick defended the dismissal of a deputy police chief from his internal affairs duties, but refused to answer questions about whether he had extramarital affairs with several women, according to a deposition released Monday. The 90-page transcript revealed little new information about the dismissal of Gary Brown, who had authorized an investigation into wrongdoing by the mayor's security detail and rumors about a wild party at the mayor's official residence, the Manoogian Mansion. The deposition comes at a time when Kilpatrick is accused of using his security officers to help procure women as part of their city-paid duties... The transcript portrays a tense atmosphere, with the mayor at one point chewing an apple, and his lawyer asking repeatedly for the time."
