While I'm still exploring things within the forums this is one I haven't found a common consensus on....

When is the best time to have sex or masturbate?

Unfortunately my wife and I don't get to have sex as often as we'd like being on opposite shifts and I'm never going to say no when we have the opportunity.

For masturbation I know overdoing it is a bad thing and edging is a good thing. I have done some edging after jelqing which led to orgasm and figured that was fine.

However I was reading the SRT stuff (I'd do it but can't afford the equipment) and it says morning sex/masturbate and then right into length work.

I'm sure there is going to be a lot of opinions on this and I'd love to hear them.
 
After you have an orgasm your penis will be in an instant state of fatigue allowing for the best stretching opportunity, as when the penis is tired it does not hold back when you stretch. If you have sex 3 times a week, for example, I would leave myself 12 hours of room between the two.
 
So masturbation in the morning before doing my stretching is fine but try to not have sex/masturbate 12 hours prior to jelqing?
 
I combine my 'edging' while I'm engaged in coitus...two birds and the intensity is 'off-the-charts'

I've done that before. What's even better is when your partner thinks they're torturing you by edging you along. Lay back, relax, and enjoy.

The best from of stamina training is vigorous sexual activity while maintaining a full erection. A fair second would be edging/Stop and Start type movements along with Erect Kegels. Frivolous masturbation is discouraged as it saps the libido and EQ.

For stamina training, a good rule of thumb is the 60 minute rule. If your sexual activity has you engaged in vigorous movements WITH a full erection for a total of 60 minutes or more per week, you can forgo the Stop and Start. For any time less than that, you should make it up in your training. If you're practicing kegeling for control during your sexual activity, you can estimate offsetting that from your routine as well. If you're doing less than this AND you're getting tired, it might me more than penile stamina that's the issue. Intense sexual activity can require a high degree of cardiovascular fitness. If you're lacking in that area, it's advisable that you make improvements so that it becomes less of an issue.

Of course I'll always choose sex over masturbation (except with 1 woman I dated a long time ago who was so needy and clingy that I decided to masturbate on a few occasions instead of having sex with her) and like many other things in life you only get good at them when you do it.


After DLD gave his first reply I did decide to masturbate (with some edging) before doing my stretching routine. It actually went a lot smoother as I wasn't starting to get the occasional semi erection which prohibits me from stretching until it goes away. It usually only happens when I'm doing my warm up stretches (A, Y, C, and twists) but it is impossible to do those when semi erect. Now I know it's okay to masturbate if needed (and if sex isn't an option) prior to stretching.

There is no better time to stretch the penis than after orgasm, it is in a state of complete fatigue and there is no muscular pull back that will limit the stretch.
 
Well sometimes it's in a state of fatigue. Half a lifetime ago I was able to orgasm and as long as I picked up the intensity of sex for about a minute I was able to stay erect. That was a lot of fun too. I didn't worry about holding out for my first orgasm, sometimes it was as short as 2 minutes, sometimes as long as 5. Since I was able to keep going immediately and for as long as I wanted after that she loved it (and neither of us complained about the mess it made).

I didn't do anything special to train myself for this. The second night we had sex I lasted a few minutes. She was joking around when she said "maybe if you just stay inside me and keep going you won't get soft." I was 19 and stupidly horny so I tried it. When my penis decided to cooperate it was a joyous moment.

I'd love to be able to do that again. One thing at a time with PE....
 
Keep in mind- you may still want to perform kegels if you're sexually active, and even if your EQ is sufficient for sexual activity you should still be regularly pushing the limits of your performance in order to keep your EQ increasing.

Once you reach very advanced levels of training (for enlargement), then even given the most extreme examples your level of EQ necessary for sexual proficiency is NOT going to be as high as for training purposes. There's only so much you can do during sexual contact- even given the most fit partners. For enlargement training maximizing EQ is a must if you wish to force constant, productive expansion.

It really gets under their skin! There are such subtle ways to turn the tables and take power in a relationship.
