WNBC-TV 4 New York |
"Gov. James E. McGreevey's top donor hired prostitutes as part of a scheme to scuttle a federal prosecution, authorities charged Tuesday. Real estate developer Charles Kushner hired a New York City call girl to have sex with a cooperating witness in a grand jury investigation, had the sex act videotaped and sent the witness' wife photos and a copy of the tape, U.S. Attorney Christopher J. Christie said... Prosecutors said Kushner sent the tapes to retaliate against the witnesses for cooperating... Kushner was under criminal investigation for possible tax fraud and illegal campaign contributions , said Michael Drewniak, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office... Kushner recruited two prostitutes to have sex acts recorded on tape with two former employees, according to the criminal complaint... One of the associates met at a Bridgewater hotel and had sex with the prostitute in December. The other associate declined advances from a second prostitute. Kushner paid $25,000 to the prostitutes and to two others who helped arranged the meetings and videotaped the one encounter."
