Kind of a Hanging Boo-Boo Question

I've been hanging for a few months now, and really feel like I've made the most progress with hanging over anything else I've tried. Recently, I've upped the number of sets I do per day and I've noticed some soreness that feels like it's in the ligament specifically.

To better describe what I'm feeling... when I'm erect, and I push down on my penis, I get a slight but sharp ache deep at the base and on the left side -- actually running somewhat down behind my scrotum. It hurts a bit when my girlfriend rides me because the angle points my penis straight up and then she rocks downward repeatedly creating the same sorta pressure that I've described above.

The reason for my post... is this the beginnings of a boo-boo and time for a break, or is this a sign that I'm really beginning to create the desired micro-tears in the ligament and will see the most gains from achieving this sort of soreness?

If the soreness lasts for just a day or so then i don't think there's anything to worry about, but if it persists for several days after or gets worse then you should take a short break until the soreness subsides. It sounds like normal lig fatigue but never take chances on your health.

Brugga,

I do not know how to respond to your description of the soreness. You say it is slight, but a "sharp ache". In my mind, those two don't really go together. If you have chronic soreness, with an acute twing of very slight pain every so often, it sounds about right. But if the sharp pain occurs often during the day, you have probably overdone it, and are verging on injury.

The best bet is to rest for a day or so, allow a little healing, and therefore sadly a little strengthening, and then continue with your hanging . Try to err on the side of caution.

You're right, Bigger, that description doesn't make a whole hell of a lot of sense, does it. :s

It isn't something that bothers me throughout the day, I've got to fiddle with my pecker to make it hurt, so it sounds like it's probably the normal ligament fatigue that silkdogg mentioned.

So, the diagnosis would be to take a couple days as a break?

Why did you say, "...and therefore sadly a little strengthening...", I don't understand why strengthening would be a bad thing?
