Jesus, I feel the pull of the flesh every day. It scares me when the tempting thoughts pass through my mind. But I thank you that I am not the flesh. Thank you for giving me a brand-new life in your Spirit. I ask for you to coach me in my true identity so that I can begin reinterpreting my entire thought life. Show me that I am not the sum total of the thoughts that pass through my mind. Reveal to me that I am clean and close to you, seated now at your right hand. Teach me how to set my mind on the truth of who I really am and to enjoy walking in step with you. Amen. (a prayer from The Hurt & The Healer)
