Have any of you guys ever heard of desktops animations and stuff. Its like a wallpapaer in the background that is animated, meaning a lot of stuff is going on and is moving around? I saw this one time on a computer and have been wanting to get it for a long time.

What you are talking about, is Active Desktop - it allows you to display web content as your background, which can include any kind of animations or content you see on web pages. Active Desktop is part of windows, just right click on your background, and there you can enable it, customize your desktop, and add items. Hope this helps.

And I should add, you can include mutiple items, say like a stock ticker hosted by one website, and news headlines from another, and add some pics or whatever from other sites to boot :)

That is interesting. Is there a site were I can get cool stuff for the active desktop to put on there?

Thats funny you ask, because just a minute ago I had a moving desktop. My avatar for BeBobBox -the little michael jackson thing- I have saved on my comp and I set it as my desktop so I had like 50 of these little MJ's dancing on my screen.

You may have actually seen a program doing this (not Active Desktop - which sucks).

My mate had one that ran the Matrix code all down his screen. It didn't use many resources, but it would sometimes make his games crash out, so he got rid of it.

You could also program it to have words written in the matrix code - every now and then the majority of the codw would go dim and leave the words you chose to show at set intervals.

I can't remember the name of the program - i'll e-mail my mate and ask him what it was.
