Hi!

It seems that my new X40 is leaking air from the valve!

When filling it up (having the valve locked) it's NOT leaking water at all.
Then I position my dick in it by "dropping it in", X40 pointing directly to the floor, to avoid losing too much water.
Then I firmly press the opening/comfort ring towars my body to create the seal and am NOT pumping at all at this point.
When the seal is good and I'm not losing any water I raise the X40 to a 90degree angle (or slightly higher even) and when I'm sure that I'm not losing any water anywhere I unlock the valve and start pumping.
The pressure does build up, but as it does the X40 starts to leak in air through the valve which starts to fill the device and slowly cause the pressure to disappear!

The leaking means that I have to constantly pump more to maintain pressure, but this means that sooner rather than later the device has half air and half water in it, and I'm guessing this isn't supposed to happen?

The exact point of the leak shifts if I rotate the transparent valve part, seems that it's the black O-ring maybe.

I have popped the cap open, but it seems that you can't reach the black O-ring by doing so, so there doesn't seem to be any way to fix this, or?

Did I receive a defect X40, again?! (I already returned one due to the exact same problem and this was the replacement, was brand new, sealed box and all)

Included a pic here though the quality ain't that great as I took it with mobilephone camera (click on the pic to make it larger).
I drew a red line next to the stream of air bubbles (bubbles on the left side of the line). In the picture I have it pumped against my hand and it's pointing towards the floor, so that the air bubbles are originating from the valve and moving towars the base (upwards) in a steady stream. Again, sorry for the bad image quality, would need faster shutter speed I guess to properly catch the fast moving bubblestream.

What do you think?
Something wrong with it?
Am I doing something wrong?
Or am I just this unlucky to receive two defect X40's in a row?!

Would appriciate any input, thanks!

I would doubt that two in a row would be off so lets try to find where you may be going wrong. Have you shaved to a manageable level? Have you tried Vaseline around the seal? Have you tried to re-seast the valve?

1. Pump in unlocked-mode to desired pressure.
2. Hold it against you body(let no air come in).
3. Really really really quickly switch the valve to locked-mode.
4. Then let the pump to its work and repeat steps 1-3.

Thanks for the answers!

Although I already returned the product to the store I bought it from.
They tested it, and the one I sent previously and confirmed to me that they were indeed both defects. They then continued to testing products they had on the shelves and found out that those were bad too, so they had gotten really unlucky with the shipment it seems. Unfortunately this also ment that they pulled the product from their selection, so that's that... They're still stocking X-40 though, so I'm now considering of giving that one a go, but can't say that I'm impressed with the Bathmates trackrecord so far :(

Hi. I just got my Hydromax a few days ago. It worked well for the first few days but then i noticed the valve keeps releasing air (hissing sound when i lock it to my right). However i dont have problem when locking to my left. Did i have defective pump? Who should i contact to get replacement valve?

Are you guys buying your pumps through my link? If you are buying outside the Brotherhood I have little influence on helping with returns. It should be strongly understood that there are many, many knockoffs and the only way to truly know you are getting the authentic product is trough our link:

I am also having the same valve issues. I was very dissapointed when I received my x40. Hopefully customer service will come through. When you pay $200 for something, you expect it to work properly without workarounds.

ANy kind of issues will be rectified by the protocol here on the forum for maintenance, cleaning and repair and if these channels do not remedy the situation Bathmate, Hydromax, Penomet and SizeGenetics will all stand behind their products 200%

There are ways to fix this. Just do a search for it.

I get what your saying and I've seen the fixes, I'm coming from the point of view that I shouldn't have to fix something that's brand new just to get it to work. If I'm doing a modification that's another story.
Just my 2 cents.

I am having the same problem with the valve leaking air into my Hydromax x40 and I used the link in your sig to order it. I have contacted customer service and hopefully they will get back to me and let me return it.

hey guys i am having the exact same problem here just got my Hydromax x40 bought it directly from their site and it's leaking air from the top i tried cleaning it and still happens i see little bubbles and here i hissing noise like air escaping and in a little while i loose pressure and have to pump again

Yeah I have a similar issue with my X40. I can see the continual stream of air bubbles from the top and hear that hissing sound. I double checked to make sure that it was not leaking from the base. I have a good seal there. No home fixes though? It's a hassle to send it back, but I suppose it is much safer to just contact them.

Also, yeah I purchased my X40 from that page.

Ive contacted them about this problem almost a week ago and still havent heard back

I dont think their all defective. The oring just moves around when shipped probably. Because my Bathmate was having air bubbles too. Check out the thread "cleaning your Bathmate completely" i did what that guy said and now my Bathmate works better the ever!

Seems a bit convoluted, but I can understand the merit of this, I think I'll give it a go.
