Are dudes who just stretch manually missing out on gains? Or achieving them slower and with more effort than hangers?

I'm in the "manual" camp for stretching, but sometimes I find myself jealous of the gains made with relative ease that are enjoyed by the hanging crew.

What do you say about it?

I personally don't hang, but I think in and of itself, it would be more effective than just doing manual stretching at achieving results. The main reason I see this is because you are applying a stress for a much longer time at a consistent level. With manual stretching, you generally don't do a stretching routine for hours on end. Also with manual stretching, you don't necessarily apply a stress at the same intensity level every time.

However, I think each camp has its place, and maybe someday down the road I'll give it a try. But for now, it's all manual for me.

Maybe a hanger like SWM can give us some insight on the topic.

I've been an exclusive hanger for over a year now, and I do feel it has definite advantages over manual stretching. Like D S said, the best advantage is the fact that you know how much tension you're using and you can control the amount of time you use it. Another good advantage is the ability to hang in different and precise angles that would start to become uncomfortable to manual stretch in. Maybe not the best, but definitely important is the fact that you free up your hands to do other things while the weight does the work for you, I.E. surf the net, talk on the phone, eat, etc.

Dont get me wrong, there are some huge manual stretching gainers out here, DLD comes to mind, and you can create way more force from manual stretching in short bursts than you could safely hang with weights, but I think the consistency and amount of time put into hanging wins out in the end.

I'm in the "manual" camp for stretching, but sometimes I find myself jealous of the gains made with relative ease that are enjoyed by the hanging crew.

Both techniques, hanging and, stretching have their um......"pros and cons".

Hanging Pros:

You can get a constant stretch for 15-20 minutes. 20 minutes being the recommended MAX time you should make each set before restoring total blood flow to the penis.

You can use a constant, set level of resistance...5lbs, 10lbs...whatever you can comfortably hang with.

Because of the constant pull for 15-20 minutes at a time...the theory is you are working more efficiently as your hands are not involved and therefor, not the limiting factor as with manual stretching.

Hanging Cons:

You need to either make or, buy a hanger. Some guys honestly...so they say cannot afford to buy a hanger and just lack even the slightest bit of hand eye co-ordination to make a hanger (easy to make with the instructions/diagrams in hangers forum).
Well whatever. We all have our priorities in life. Some guys I guess think that pack or two of ciggs every day (there's your hanger $$) is more important than a bigger dick.

You need to buy wrapping material, learn to wrap properly, buy weights, learn to attach and use the hanger properly and safely. Once you learn all that...could take a couple weeks to really get in down...you need to adapt your penis to the art of hanging.

With hanging you start out very light in weight. Much less resistance than you could get from manual stretching. Takes several months to work up to the same level or resistance as you can get from manual stretching when using weights. You could pull with say, 20lbs or more on your penis using your hands. To use that same resistance with hanging it will take many months. You may or may not get there....depending on how determined you are to really get a bigger penis. You may puss out before then and decide it's taking too long.

With hanging, it takes more time to do the same work. For me for example, to hang 2 hours of actual hang time...6 sets of 20 minutes plus break time..(take off hanger, massage a few minutes, reattach hanger, readjust, reattach weights)...I need almost 3 hours of time in a day.

Manual stretching Pros:

All you need is your hands and some sort of 'grip aid'. That can be what many guys like myself and DLD use...Baby Powder or a golf glove, something like that.

You can get much more resistance with your hands. You also have more flexibility with manual stretching. Example, you can perform many more types of stretchins...bundles, A, V, etc. stretches. It is easier to hit different angles as well.

It is easier to find the time to DO manual stretching. You dont need to find two hours in the day to do ONE hour of work. You can stretch anywhere. All you need is a couple minutes of privacy. Therefor, it is easier to stretch in several small sessions over the course of a day.

No equipment to buy or, keep stored somewhere out of site for you "stealth Penis Enlargement" guys out there. If the phone rings, or you have unexpected company, there's nothing to hurriedly take off your penis and put away.

Manual Stretching Cons:

Hands dont grip long. You may only be able to stretch for 30 minutes a day vs. a couple hours a day with hanging. Your hands get tired and, there goes your grip. There goes your intense stretching workout. If you have joint problems in your fingers, hands, wrists, or, have carpal tunnel syndrom, youre pretty much up a creek.

Youre pulling with more resistance than with hanging....but, who knows how much? Maybe youre pulling with too much resistance. One argument against stretching and FOR hanging is that supposedly youre an idiot and dont know when to stop pulling before you hurt yourself or, are more prone to injury because you dont know how much resistance youre pulling with. I think most guys have enough common sense to know better though.

You have to use your hands. Lazy people should not even attempt stretching. It requires too much focused effort for too long.

Well, that's my list of pros and cons for each technique. As far as "........ the gains made with relative ease that are enjoyed by the hanging crew"....that's bull. Hanging is a pain in the ass. I did not get ANY gains with ANY "relative ease" from hanging. I made my last 3/4" gain in "only" a couple months sure...BUT, during that same time frame, I was putting in a very mentally and physically devoted and, not to mention demanding 3 or 4 hours a day of total hang time. Or, 4-5 hours a day focused toward hanging...counting prep time, breaks, etc. Not getting sassy here I'm just being truthfull. Hanging is probably the one type of Penis Enlargement that requires the most dedication to achieve results. I cant help but get somewhat upset when guys think I'm making "easy" gains. :blaster:

As far as what type of stretching you choose to do...that's an individual choice. It should be a choice based on what you want to achieve and, how much time you can honestly devote to those gains.

:p Thats nearly happened to me

I'm currently in the manual camp, but about to switch very soon to the hanging camp.
In terms of gains, I got much girth from jelqs, probably very little length. From manual stretching, I got about 1-1.15" or so - not a great deal for so much tugging.
I believe that hanging (traction, over time) exponentially increases the benefits of penile lengthening. I can pull my cock like a maniac, but I rarely get any post-workout soreness (very rarely). I bet that I pull at least 20-30 lbs momentarily, at times, but I suspect that I'd get better gains with 1/2 the weight for 20-minute sets.
And still mentioned that you had to start hanging light (far less tension than manual stretches)....while I agree, you can still throw some manuals in until you've built up in weight. In other words, do your hanging routine, then a while later, some A stretches or DLD Blasters. I plan on doing both anyway.
Maybe a moderate manual session just before I wrap, then hang, then unwrap, massage, & some intense manuals (using the hanging session as sort of a pre-fatigue deal).

BTW, Bib reports EL gains of 5" - and he got those gains by hanging, for hours each day.
I know that DLD is up there with EL gains of 4" - from manual - but he does some very intense sessions (often multiple sessions), so he's also putting in some hours per day.
If I have to devote that kind of time, then hanging is a helluva lot easier on the hands; besides, with hanging I can do work at the puter while I'm growing!

One more thing I always wondered.... how do you hang "OTS" or straight upwards with a hanger? Do you attach a rope to the hanger and literally let a rope with a weight plate tied to it dig into your shoulder? Couldn't you toss the rope over a pipe and attach weights to it?

Just out of curiousity, has anyone here ever built the homemade "bib" hangers as described in the plans in the hanging forum? Those blueprints look like they'd hurt your dick...that homemade one looks nothing like the real Bib hanger. The one you get from Bib looks all wicked and shit... that other one looks like a torture device. Has anyone ever built the one in the plans?

I'm surprised that there aren't any other comparable hanging systems out there on the market. I've looked around to see what was available, and everything I find is crazy ghetto!

Yes i've built one and it works... I have to fumble with it to get comfortable for about 10-30 minutes.

I bought some clear PVC hose and a "S" hook and a clamp. I took and old white tee shirt and cut it up to wrap up my penis in and I hang with about 5lbs on it.

Sometimes it slips off because I'm scared I have it to tight.. feel weird but doesn't hurt. It's real cheap to make. I do longer hangs with less weight, so when I go flaccied it's still being stretch at 6inch... so ... I hope this get me big

You could toss the rope over a pipe, but you really don't have to. Even if you're hanging with 30 lbs or so (which is quite advanced), it's really not that much weight. I used to routinely have over a 500-lb bar across my shoulders for squats - what's 10-30 lbs really (even though the rope is narrower than a bar)?
But if it's really bothering you, you could place a small pillow under the rope - or a folded towel - and simply alternate shoulders each set.

You could also put a hose over the rope to get rid of the drag, and cut down on the rope diggin into your skin.

Waxn -
A barbell is much wider then a rope. After a 20 min session you have some mean looking marks on your shoulder where it dug in. I think the barbell spreads the weight out more and it is across your shoulders, this isn't so with OTS hanging.

The way I did it... Buy a nice office chair with a tall back and hang the rope over the top. Be sure to put something (towel, blanket, etc) on the top to keep it from getting tore up.

Id love to start hanging but I'm too scared to try it. But i think it would work alot better than manual stretching.

It still scares me a little too. I'm not trying hanging until I do a lot of manual work and feel I've gotten little return from my efforts. So, hopefully I'll never have to hang.

I like to hang as id feel id get alot better work out as i have constant pressure on my penis. But the hole hanging weights from your penis idea just scares me like a phobia i guess.

Wait until Bib starts production again and buy one if you want to hang. It is safe as long as you follow his guidelines, and the guidelines and warnings here at MOS. It is a little uncomfortable at first but that subsides.

The most problem you will have is getting wrapping right so that you are not cutting off circulation. If this happens and it will, just take off the weight and hanger, and BTB jelq until everything is normal again. You have to be "AWARE" of the device. But you can freely move about and do normal activities. Usually seated of course. I play my favorite game while doing it. :D

The greatest disadvantage I've read about with hanging has got to be the time commitment. I know NPenis Enlargement takes a time commitment, but I'm absolutely sure I don't have the 2 to 4 hours that many guys devote to hanging. Yes, you can do a few other things while you're hanging, I'm sure. However, one would not cut the grass, shop for groceries, etc. Work takes 12 hours of my day, so I don't see hanging as an option for the foreseeable future.

Yeah, how exactly does the time thing work out? Do you do it in your pants at work? Once you get home from work? Unemployed?
