Calling shenanigans.

Besides that no .. human .. dick looks like that, its provenance is too random. Even under the best version of the story some housemaid picked it up at the crime scene and kept it .. like in a rag, dessicated (dryed out) for six years or so .. before it made its way to Paris, where some cult of ladies worshiped it - still dryed out - for years, and then Rasputin's daughter obtained it and kept it until some 70 years later, but now in a magically non-dessicated (as in: never-dessicated) preserved-in-a-jar format.

Add in the way that women have no ever-living idea how big anything actually is, and that the account of it being "13 inches" is from his toddler or even infant daughter, -- and that the accounts of its popularity with the ladies would indicate that it could get hard on-purpose, and then fit inside of them for sexytime, .. and statistically you're probably talking about some 98 percentile unit that was maybe 9 inches at best.

If that.

'In the land of 5.5, the 8 inch man is king'.

So, it'd seem that the penis pictured doesn't match the accounts from the time (of it being dessicated for years, if not decades), which makes it the fact that it looks like an animal penis make more sense.

Here's one take on the displayed version from the internet museum of hoaxes --

Rasputin’s Penis: Hoax or Not?
image The Russian Museum of Erotica, newly opened in St. Petersburg, has been crowing about its acquisition of the penis of Rasputin (the mad mystic and lover of the wife of the Russian Tsar). A photo accompanying the many news reports about this unusual exhibit shows an attractive young woman staring rather in awe at the huge, grotesque thing as it floats in formaldehyde (there's another picture here). It definitely looks like a penis, but is it Rasputin's penis (which, according to legend, was 13 inches long)?

As it turns out, Rasputin's penis has had a rather colorful history since its separation from his body. Here are some of the highlights. In 1916 Rasputin and his penis parted ways due to the machinations of a murdering gang of angry nobles. But, according to rumor, a maid found the bodiless member at the crime scene and saved it. During the 1920s a group of Russian women living in Paris acquired it (or acquired something that they believed to be his penis) and worshipped it as a kind of holy relic, while keeping it inside a wooden casket. Rasputin's daughter, Marie, didn't like the idea of her Dad's penis hanging out with these women, so she demanded the thing back. And it presumably stayed with her until she died in California in 1977. It then disappeared for a while until it came into the possession of Michael Augustine, who found it tucked away in a velvet pouch along with some of Marie Rasputin's manuscripts that he bought at a lot sale. Augustine sold the well-travelled penis to Bonham's auction house who then discovered (surprise, surprise!) that what they had bought was not a penis, but instead a sea cucumber.

That's where events stood in 1994. Now, ten years later the Russian Museum of Erotica is claiming that they have Rasputin's penis. Igor Knyazkin, the director of the Museum, claims that he bought it from a French antiquarian for $8,000. Which just begs the question: where did this French antiquarian get the penis from? One might also wonder why the Museum's penis is preserved in fluid, whereas all early accounts of Rasputin's penis describe it as dried out.

Additional ...

Gregori Rasputin was apparently a lady’s man with a sizeable member. There are two stories of how he was castrated after his death. The first says that his assassins castrated him and the maid who cleaned up after them found his member discarded and kept it.

The other story says that one of his lady friends took it as a souvenir after his autopsy. Either way, the penis surfaced in the 1920s in Paris, where a group is said to have worshiped it for fertility reasons. Rasputin’s daughter, Marie, demanded that it be returned to her.

Then in 1994 the penis resurfaced. A man in California supposedly came into possession of it after buying some things from a Dr. Ripple. Ripple was said to have been collaborating with Marie Rasputin on a hagiography of Gregori Rasputin and had inherited Rasputin’s penis after Marie passed away. It ended up being a dessicated sea cucumber.

Another Rasputin penis showed up in the hands of a Russian doctor who opened an erotica museum. The penis has not been tested yet. The penis is 11 inches long, but Marie said her father’s was 13 inches long. Some experts think the penis on display in the museum is the ostracized organ of a horse or bovine animal with sheathing romoved.

Not to poop on Rasputin's penis, but we have enough issues with dysmorphia already without thinking we need to be over a foot long to get it on with the Tsarist socialites ;) , anything over 7" or so gets world-rocking ..
