I have started to read the Bible and i can't deny God tells us anything sexual ( unless you do it with your wife )it's a sin..i know it doesn't say anything about masturbation particulary, but Matthew 5:27-28 says : “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart ".When you masturbate, you are thinking about other women and lust them, aren't you?I have read about 40 % of the Bible and until now,i understood sex / anything sexual( unless you're married ) is a sin.The bible also says that you cannot marry a divorced woman, you commit adultery if you do that. And many things about sexual stuff.I know we have a lot of religious people here, can you guys please explain that to me?From what i have discovered God and sex are not friends.I even heard sex for pleasure is against God too, doesn't matter if you're married or not,sex should be used to reproduce only.Religious people, what do you think about that?I'm confused.

What Does the Bible Say About Sexual Sin?

What Does the Bible Say About Sexual Sin?

What needs to be understood is that these are not sin, even though they are called delay sins, they are simply things that could bring you to sin. For instance, there is nothing wrong with Pride but if you allow it to become conceit and if it goes unchecked it will cause you to put yourself above others, which is a sin. The same applies to Lust, looking at God's beautiful creation of women is not a sin, it is a praise to the Lord for His amazing creation. But if you Lust to the point that it causes you to cheat on your wife then it has become a sin. We can go through all of the deadly sins with the same answer, these are things that could bring you to sin. Jesus said nowhere that there was anything wrong with sex, anywhere. He did say, "I did not come to change the law, I came to fulfill it." This means the laws of the Old Testament were now fulfilled ushering a new way of seeing God through His Son Jesus. To take this even deeper, Jesus did not want to be around good people, he wanted to be among the sinners because this is where he could heal....people who are healthy need no help.

If you are married and commit adultery you have sinned in the face of God and you will need to repent and vow to never do this again. Always pray for Jesus to help and protect you. Do not allow yourself to enter into sin by keeping the Deadly Sins in check, a sort of guide. And again, Jesus said this "There are 10 commandments but there are only two that are of the most importance and if you complete these 2 commandments you have fulfilled them all; Love God above all things and Love thy Brother as thyself. If you have completely these 2 commandments you have completed them all." Jesus is not a vengeful God, he is a loving God. Appreciate all He has done for us for now, with the new law, (The New Testament) we can go to Jesus for forgiveness no matter what we do.

Do not let the Bible Inundate you, allow it to expand your understandings through the word of God. If you ever need interpretation please just ask.

God Bless All my Brother!

:) Anything you ever want to know please ask, remember I was going to be a priest when I was growing up:)

How about tattoos DLD?I have planned to get a lot of tattoos, and i have found this in the Bible :

“You must not put tattoo marking upon yourselves.” God gave this command to the nation of Israel, thus setting them apart from the neighboring peoples who marked their skin with the names or symbols of their gods.

I know you have tattoos so that's why i'm asking :)

god can forgive you, just be a good person. I have a lot of tattoos, a few are religious. I dont think god will hold it against me i still try to be a good person and i pray everyday.

Every person can carry with them the spirit of god, or of satan which makes them a temple of either. Would you think its ok to graffiti a christian church? A satanic church?

If you're thinking about handing your life over to Christ then don't tattoo. If not then don't tattoo either because they look ugly imo

Great question and a complete misinterpretation of the passage which is Leviticus 19:28

Now it is first important to understand that Leviticus is a book of the Old Testament and upon the birth of Christ the old rules no longer applied in many ways. But to answer your question with an interpretation of these words in regards to the time they were written.

We find even within scripture that there existed a heathen practice of cutting the flesh as part of an attempt to appeal to the gods, a kind of unholy sacrifice if you will.

"So they shouted louder and slashed themselves with swords and spears, as was their custom, until their blood flowed. (NIV 1 Kings 18:28)
There are other references to cuttings ones hair and beard in certain shapes and tattooing in this verse you mention that are within the same context."

“‘Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard. “‘Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the Lord." (NIV, Leviticus 19:27-28)"

Contextually I would argue that the reference to tattooing is also so as 'not to be like those' who do these things as part of their idolatry worship and ceremonies. Cutting your beard, possibly so that your hair and facial hair is round like the sun, is bad in the context of say 'Sun worship', but clipping your beard outside of this context does not have a direct scriptural reference opposed to it. In the same way, if we are trying to find out if tattooing as sinful, unrelated to idolatry, it is fine. This law(s) were created as ways to avoid idolatry. So if you get a tattoo with no idolatry than there is nothing wrong with that but if you tattoo yourself with pagan gods, satanism, etc. this would be considered sinful.

God did not invent religion, mankind did in order to control and manipulate each other. God, just wants us to be happy.

Indeed. Jesus came here to teach us the loving part of God and to usher in a new, more peaceful way to coexist and love one another.

Like Jesus said "If you complete the first 2 commandments you have fulfilled them all" these commandments were Love God above all things and Love thy Brother like Thyself. So simple, love one another and love God!

Religion could be anything you relate to bruh. Some people have the religion of going into the wilderness to eat cacti XD

Yes, there are many ways to see God in many different things. He is the creator so all of His creations are part of Him therefore they are worthy of praise. God to me is the Trinity and my Roman Catholic faith but all Christianity shares most of the same beliefs. The wilderness, animals, trees, sky, sun, water, fields, all the beauty of the world is of God's Kingdom!
