Gamma Linoleic Acid: The Double Edged Sword

For reasons unlrelated to Penis Enlargement, I have been doing some research of my own on EFA's (essential fatty acids) and well I came across Gamma Linoleic Acid which happens to be a 5-Alpha Reductase Inhibitor. 5-Alpha Reductase is necessary for turning testosterone into DHT, so inhibiting it can be beneficial to male pattern baldness, hirsutism (excessive female hair growth), as well as keeping the prostate from turning into a grapefruit.

However, DHT is important for a variety of reasons, including penile growth during adolescence and quite possibly it might have some effect on Penis Enlargement, though there is a lot of debate about this. Also, DHT is important in regulating estrogen so not enough DHT can help cause men and women to gain fat, in particular in the hips and breasts (I guess DHT cream is used by some bodybuilders for treating gyno).

So, supplements like Evening Primrose Oil, Borage Oil, and Black Currant Oil which are all high in Gamme Linoleic Acid are bad for Penis Enlargement right?

Well, the fact is you need GLA for a bunch of reasons even though it has the side effect of inhibiting conversion of testosterone to DHT, and another reason is that it is very important in the formation Prostaglandin E-1 (Caverject's active injection ingredient). Without Prostaglandin E-1, the penis tissue will have no real elasticity and the same goes for your joints as Prostaglandin E-1 is very important in preventing bad inflammation and promoting elasticity in elastic tissue. This is one reason why EFA's are often stacked with Glucosamine/Chondroitin/MSM stacks.

So, I believe that when taking extended breaks or even when doing rest days, that supplementation with Gamma Linoleic Acid may help keep your penis tissue more elastic and therefore easier to stretch to create those little micro tears and encourage faster gains.

Now as far as Penis Enlargement days go, I am not sure if supplementation of GLA is good or bad overall as it could limit gains by limiting DHT production, or it just might inhibit only excess DHT that would otherwise go to your scalp and make you go bald or else go to your skin and help promote acne with the remaining GLA being metabolized as energy (GLA supplementation has minimal effect on testosterone levels).

But I am thinking that if it is possible to return your penis into a more elastic state by promoting more elastin tissue buildup and less collagen tissue buildup during extended breaks as well as during healing days, that your rate of gains may be increased significantly.

Right now I am taking Fish Oils, Flaxseed Oil, and recently I added in Evening Primrose Oil as well and have noticed my penis feeling a lot more rubbery even though my flaccid stretched length has not improved significantly yet (I am not doing any tunica stretching this week, so I will have to see what will happen next week as I am only doing hanging and girth work this week). This is just an initial observation and it could be my eyes playing tricks on me, but I am wondering if anyone stuck on a plateau and is considering taking a break anyways would be willing to supplement their diet with significant amounts of GLA to see what happens during their time off. I also take joint support supplements (Glucosamine, Chondroitin, MSM stack) as I believe this may be beneficial in promoting Penis Enlargement gains, but right now I am thinking that GLA's might just be the ticket to keeping the penis stretchable and less likely to toughen up so much that gains become difficult to come by.

Yes, Prostaglandin E-1 is VERY good for the penis I think.
Been takeing it orally now for nearly a year every couple of days along with my vitamin pills and Ginkgo Biloba.

I also belive with high levels of Prostaglandin E-1 when you stretch the ligs you can do so for longer and further without feeling the BURN sensation.
This is mentioned in the boo boo section under the lig pop sticky thread.

The question is due to GLA being a 5 Alpha Reductase Inhibitor, is it overall good for Penis Enlargement and when is it good. It appears it has benefits and negatives from what I have seen, though there seems to be no concensus on what DHT does for extending an adult penis in the first place.

Nevertheless, if your penis is not elastic, it just is not going to stretch and the ratio of collagen to elastin is basically what determines the stretchability of the penis from its flaccid state to its erect state which is one reason why people with very poor flaccid hangs but decent erections seem to gain a lot faster than guys starting out with a flaccid hang that is not much different than their erect state.
