I'm having trouble with hanging . I started with 2 lbs for a week, then 4 lbs for a week, then went to 5 lbs for a couple of days, but it just wasn't feeling like it was doing much so I went up to 9 lbs. The 9 lbs feels really good...good stretch , no hurt, felt like it was doing something. The problem is with that much weight, the skin on my penis slides down til the hanger is right on the head. It cuts off circulation and the head swells and turns purple (dark purple). If I move the hanger further up the shaft of my penis it just stretches the skin. If I crank it down so tight it doesn't slide, then the circ is cut off once again. At first I was using my homemade bib hanger , but tonight I made a Captn's Wench and was hoping it would help, but its just as bad or worse. I know you are going to have some of these effects, but this is to the point where it's either hang with little weight or don't hang, because it's not healthy. I know there are a lot of successful hangers out there so I must be doing something wrong, I'm just not sure what it is.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so, were you able to remedy it? I just can't seem to grip the inside of the penis without having to crank down so tight as to cut off blood flow.:banghead:

First I would recommend dropping the weight back to 5 pounds for another week. The slow increase in weight is to condition the penis and enable it to handle stress. Add only a couple of pounds a week (or every 2 weeks). I know its frustrating to think you are not accomplishing anything with the light weight, but you can not see whats going on internally. Major changes are taking place.

Do you feel any fatigue when hanging ?
What angle are you hanging ?

Might also try squeezing more blood from the head before tightening the hanger . Don't get frustrated, take it slow and easy.

Thanks C-Guy. I guess I will have to stick with the 5 lbs for now, but I'm still concerned because at some point I'm going to be up to 9 lbs and I'm wondering if I'm not going to be able to do that much.

I appreciate the advice.

I would also go back to around 5lbs. It's a weight that is still plenty safe until you figure out a remedy to your problem. How long are your sets? Is there pain associated with the hanger moving to right behind the glans? The idea of hangers...especially the production model BIB hangers is for the hanger to "seat" right on the "shoulders" or sides of the glans as an anchor point. That's straight from BIB himself. If the hanger is NOT pulling over the glans...you should be fine. You may also want to try and contact BIB himself via a PM over on Thundersplace.com/forum.

Go into more detail please. Turning purple, is actually ok as well. My glans was always purple during hanging . As long as it's not black. It's a natural consequence from constricting blood flow under pressure and the blood being semi-trapped. As long as you are not having:
1) Pain....Pain is bad.

2) Numbness....a sign of a total cut off of blood flow...also very bad for obvious reasons.

3) A feeling like your glans is "falling asleep". See Number 2.

4) COLD glans. Also a sign of a total loss of blood flow...slowed flow is fine and norman and to be expected. Most guys do however experience a slight "coolness" to the glans in temperature....as long as it's not COLD youre fine.

Those are the four main things to watch out for when hanging . Also limiting your sets to 20 minutes helps prevent the four things above assuming your have your wrap and hanger adjustments set up properly for you and the type of hanging you are doing.

What position are you hanging in? That can also affect things. I noticed when I tried hanging straight out for example vs. hanging straight down or between the cheeks, I had to change my wrap and hanger settings or I experienced numbness. It's weird how that works, but its something to do with the angle of pull and how things are pulled on. Pressure changes I guess.

I usually try to do 20 min sessions, then massage and/or jelq for 10 to 15 min then do another session. I try to do 4 sessions a night, although here lately I've only been getting 2 or 3. I've had one session where the head was numb when I took the hanger off, obviously I adjusted it for the next set. With the higher weight I'll have to take the weight off and massage the head, usually abt. every 5 min or so; I don't get a lot of blood flow but it seems to help. I don't think I'm getting any bloodflow with the 9 lbs. just hanging . Last night the head was deep dark purple, almost black on the bottom and I had to cut the session at abt 15 min. I went to bed after that (it was 1 am anyway).

As for pain... the pain I get is from the blood engorging the head until it feels like its going to burst.

As for position, I usually hang while standing in a leaning/seated position against the footboard of my bed so I can play PS2. If the stress is too much I'll just stand up straight and it lightens the stress.

Another question... when I hang, especially in the leaning/seated position, the hanger /my penis twist to the left (counterclockwise). Often I'll twist it to the right and once the suspensory lig rolls over the top of my penis it will stay to the right, the problem is the circ. gets cut off in that position. Have you (or any other hangers) had that issue? Does it get better or is it just part of hanging ?

Thanks for the input and advice; I'll keep working at it.
