I am about 7.5-8 in when fully erect, which isn't all the time. During sex with my girlfriend I periodically lose my stiffy, or have a semi-hard on for awhile. It will just disappear after awhile, and it makes me very discouraged to say the least. I also take FOREVER to cum, which is kind of strange for someone of my age (18), and it's good when the chick wants a nice long session, but I'm almost incapable of having a quickie.

I have been thinking about what may be the problem, and I have come up with these ideas.

-I smoke everyday.
-I get drunk usually once every weekend or so.
- Lack of sleep
- I take clarinex (allergy med.) idk what the effects would be on this tho.

Any thoughts from the experts on how I can stay rock solid?
 
Quit the smoking, quit masterbating, get sleep, get cardiovascular exercise, relax during sex, find an alternative medication (this is probably the most important one)
 
Immediately prior to losing your erection are your thoughts obsessive? Are you thinking about keeping an erection? Before sex do you have any fears that this may occur? This type of thought process is categorized as performance anxiety. It can be triggered by simple negative thoughts and it has the potential to manifest physical problems (impotence, problems achieving orgasm, problems with pre-mature ejaculation, etc.) When I experience this dilemma I try to stop, take some deep breaths and relax. Being open with my girl helps too. We sometimes laugh it off and take a couple minutes to timeout. Some foreplay and other non penetration activity can also be a way to help your thoughts become more erotic and less obsessive. I am only guessing this may be your problem. Gotta chime in here and say same thing happens to me once in a while. Thats why i asked that question for longer harder erections. Matched his situation to a T, cant have a quickie, it doesnt get much softer, but not FULLY erect where its hard as a rock like it usuially is when i start. Dont happen often but it does happen. Anyone got any ideas to help us?
 
Erection trouble/performance can be anything from a medical condition to diet to frame of mind. Hard to make an assesment of it so easy but I believe Gandolf and DLD give great insight here.

My question is does your girlfriend turn you on? Seriously, just cuz it's wet doesn't mean it does it for you. And even if it does it for you sometimes, doesn't mean it does it for you all the time. Are you really excited and ready before it happens and then lose it? Are there things you wish she would or you could do that aren't happening? I guess I'm wondering about the "mental" side of things. As you mature (physically and mentally) a lot more subtleties start becoming important factors in your arousal.

Gandolf is right about the physical side of things though. Kick the butts, trust me I've been a struggling smoker for years, you don't want that habit 10yrs from now.

I am fortunate that I have been with the same woman for over 15yrs so we know each other very well. Even at my age, when we're both ready for a quick gotta-do-it-now, I'm there and when we're in the mood for long slow (or long hard) I'm there too. But even after all these years, we don't always click. Sometimes she wants it and I don't. If I give in, my erections are far less than when I am in the mood as well. Thats the mental side.

Of course, if I'm drunk that's the physical side...lol.
 
Sadly, heavy alcohol use can shut down the production of testosterone for several days -- which is why body builders shun alcohol.
 
I must admit though, the comments made by DLD and hitcock are pretty on target. I think part of it is performance anxiety which I just keep worrying about keeping and staying harder. Taking deep breathes sounds good, and I guess you just gotta build yourself to that. As for hitcock, point well taken. Even though my g/f turns me on, or she's wet, I don't always get hard. Even doing foreplay doesn't do much for me.. like if i'm eating her out.. the idea of a pussy alone just doesn't do much for me. Guess I'll try those deep breathes that DLD was talking about before. :O

This might have a lot to do with fear or depression of some sort.

Will cause adverse effects on the penis. It will hinder growth and it will cause depression. Beginning PE is a chance to change everything. A chance tonic the bad habits and make some new, good habits. The body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit and should be treated as such.
