That was an amazing post! Thank you for being so informative :)

careful if ever trying it...it can be rough as you see how your body takes to it and can mess you up as your body isn't used to it.

so how long do you enter ketosis for? I've never heard or read of anyone ahving great results when completely elimination carbs like you said with the 40/60 split. Is it a correct guess that you are still getting in some carbs? you know veggies avocados? Just probably in the 50g to < 100g range? how many days will you do this before before you go over 100g or whatever you carb # is? how long would your ex do it for? I know women don't do as well for extended periods of time in ketosis.

You stay in ketosis as long as you want. People do it for all kinds of reasons. Some people enjoy the state so much that they never leave keto. This sexy, sexy lady for example (she's like 46 I believe ) According to her, she's been doing keto for the past 5 years.

When you are trying to stay in deep ketosis you can eat veggies that don't count as normal carbs because their glycemic index is so low that no insulin response happens. You can have carb days or carb nights or cheat days infrequently if your lifestyle requires the loading of carbohydrates.

Yeah. The first 5 to 7 days you'll experience carb withdrawl which is not fun. You can make get into ketosis fastest by performing glycogen depletion workouts.

she said the way we used to eat a couple million years ago...that's funny lol. And it has also only been small populations who are forced to eat a diet like this b/c they have no other choices and have no chance of coming across other food sources either (eskimo type shit). early hunter gatherers may have eaten high fat low carb for weeks and then come across an area full of berries or something and had a high source of carbs for however long. who really knows? we do know they didn't live anywhere near as long as we do now for various reasons many not related to diet of course. I hope the keto diet people follow that lifestyle for a long time so eventually we can see if it does extend life at all.

Tahir, you don't happen to have a vid of an 85 year old who has been doing keto for a long ass time??? lol. and then everyone's ancestral biological development has an impact on what type of diet people do the best with.

But true. Diet has come a long way to go back to the original diets we had as earlier humans. Red meat has always been the best form of protein and fat is proven to be a good thing in our bodies in moderation. I have never followed a fad diet, I watched others, especially the low carb diets where people would lose weight but it was mostly muscle they lost.

I totally posted a long response here last night... arg.

Anyway, my take on it is that we ought to spend time in ketosis and glucosis for balanced hormonal function. It's up to you to pick how much time you spend in either.

I wouldn't go as far to say that. Anthropology is a very inaccurate science. According to anthropologists we were only literate and building cities 10,000 years ago but within this decade we've found even older ancient cities that disprove everything we learned in the first chapter of ancient history. And in the big picture, when we look at nature's capacity to decay man made material, we can't find evidence to prove we lived 50,000 years ago but in that time, even a city like New York could be completely reduced to biodegrading material in that time frame.

I knew there was something in those eggs, i also get sick boners when i eat whole eggs :D

that's all correct...i'm only talking about ketosis and her leading statement that we were eating like that millions of years ago. they have found related hominids that date back millions of years. but a lot of evolution happens in that time. was it Lucy that was in Africa 3 million years ago. that chick was eating grass and plants all day. maybe even delicious bark. not a ketosis diet like that beast of a woman above. And i use beast as big time compliment. very few cultures have ever eaten like that best.

you too!!?? damn I buy eggs that come from a local farm where I literally pick up some of those cool ass laid back healthy pasture roaming chickens and I don't get sick bones after eating 5 of their eggs. And their eggs are so much more nutrient dense than any eggs that can be picked up in any supermarket. even the great WholeFoods.
They need to start adding viagra to those chickens diets

The eggs I get aren't even free range. They're just "Eggland's Best Vegetarian Fed Eggs". They still have the omega 3's and 6's along with all the vitamins. It may have something to do with how our bodies differ when it comes to metabolizing cholesterol. My LH hormones probably direct the cholesterol to be used for androgens. That's why after I eat eggs (with or without carbs), I get a fuller, pumped look and my skin every so slightly thins out.
