I was reading his ordering thread and I noticed someone mentioned it he charged $50.

Is there a difference between my Ball Zinger (built with instructions from Tom Hubbard) and the ones that he makes?

Thanks.

Its pretty much the same mate, I just use different zinc and different color latex.

................. why the outrageous price? :|

In Supra's defense I have to say that 50 (USD) is a pretty reasonable price.

I'm self employed and the going labor rate (in my area at least) is 50 - 75 dollars/hour for straight labor (in the construction business anyhow, now if your a professional like a doctor or lawyer thats another story).

When you take into account the time it takes to gather up the items, gather the purchasers personal specs, assemble it to those specs and ship it out. I think you'll find that your probably taking close to an hour to do that. Not to mention time spent on tech support ( telling folks how to use it properly and answering all their questios etc etc...

Additionally, it's not uncommon for a contractor to set a minimum price for their efforts. Even if a plumber comes into your house and turns a water valve off it's going to cost you between 75-100 dollars just to have him walk through the door.

So when you consider these factors, it's not really all that outrageous. After all, I can build a house for a quarter of what you could hire someone else to do it for you. If you can build it yourself, go for it. If not you have to pay the price.

Ya 50 bux aint shit. Most people think its outrageous price but you spend 50 bux on crap all the time. Might as well spend it on sumthing that you will have a week down the road and that is actually helping you.

I agree, I had no problem paying for the RoP...I just can't wait to get it in the mail now! I know if I tried to build my own, I woulda ended up paying close to that anyway based on the fact that I'm sure I'd fuck up some of the parts and have to buy em again :p.

RazedNegative are u serious I spent a total of like 10.75 on zinc 2 bucks or something on copper and like 2 bucks on latex. If u can't measure, mark the metal put it in a vice and cut it then u must have no motor skills. Supra's are made good by a vetran iam sure and yeah 50 bucks really isn't bad considering shipping and stuff but time spent isn't an issue here LZ your talking construction where ya 50 to 75 bucks an hour is reasonable but thats manual hard labor i was a framer for sometime but were talking about making 4 cuts and putting peaces togather in ten minutes for around 15 bucks. Not just that with a 6 inch peace of zinc and copper u can make 3 for 15 bucks. Hey if ur happy with paying thats fine it is a effective device, and if people are willing to buy these things off Supra than more power to supra keep doing your business hell ur making good bucks off each I thought about doing the same thing iam just a little embarrassed of asking people i know!

$50 your lucky then, supra charged me $65.whats up with that supra??

Maybe he upped the price since he moved because it is less convenient to him to make them from base camp. There are always reasons for increasing prices, usually convenience to the supplier is a main issue.

I believe it was 50 for a while, but he bumped it up to 65 at some point. I think it is still 65. And I personally was glad to pay him the 50 bucks for one, and I would have paid 65 as well.

charged me the same when he was still living in TX...

Its all about supply and demand, and materials, when I made them from Tom hubbard specs they were cheaper, when I got my own zinc rods made for me, it was more expensive, thus a increase in price. Anyone can make there own, I posted all the directions on how to as well, i dont make anyone buy anything. Cheers

Very true. In Supra's defense, he posted a great deal of information on where to get the materials and everything. I would imagine that if you had a question for him about your own ROP, he'd be happy to answer.

I paid him for mine, because I knew I'd never actually put the time and discipline into making my own.

yep i read his thread on how to make them also very thankful for that thread got an ROP now and RIng of Power it is!!!!
