You have to be stupid to do that. Humans are predisposed to disappoint. The sooner you realize this the easier it will be for you. I mean yes there are faithful people, but there are habitual cheaters too, who IMO are much more in numbers. Besides loyalty is a rare attribute....

Because they’re selfish and they look for instant gratification and they lack the confidence necessary to feel good enough about them selves to be secure in a monogamous relationship.

I believe in communication in a relationship 100% and if its fragmenting, then its time to communicate those concerns. Going behind a partners back shagging someone else is cowardice, but I understand why some cant control the animal instinct, and go ahead with it anyway.
You have to imagine the feelings of the person being hurt, if they got kids, is it really worth staying with someone your not happy with, and cheating on the side?
Some men wear it as a badge of honor the amount of times they slept around, cheated on women, like its something to be proud about. It tells me you are not trustworthy, have low morals, and low respect for women in general. so what else could that manifest as in your life? and if an acqutence or friend of mine, how would this way your wired up, eventually affect me?

It is also that they find excuses to cheat.
They will say things like "you don't give me enough time/love", "you don't satisfy me", "you rarely have sex with me", etc, which makes the other partner doubt about themselves that they might not be good enough for them.

The moment you allow other people inside your relationship, it becomes an open relationship. So technically, watching your woman having sex with someone else and then joining them is also an open relationship.

I would hate for someone to do that to me so I would never do that to someone else. A monogamous relationship is such a beautiful relationship.
