i love reading fictional books in the style of autobiographies, it allows a perspective to be used, in which you can accomplish things (as in make up events) which seem personal to this person yet are unrealistic
my friend wrote a 300 page book for a literiture course, in which the character was someone on death row after stalking and murdering a family. It was really controvertial and he nearly got kicked out of his university because it contained graphical descriptions of how this man raped the women and children, then forced the father to do the same to the kids, but it was a fantastic literary read. hes written a few unpublished books, one was about a child who was so lonely he created his own fantastical world, and became blind to the events unfolding around him (the father beating the mother, the mother having an affair)
its really good stuff if not very harsh and depressing.
