Body hair. Is it good or is it bad?

I've got chest hair, pubic hair and armpit hair. I was thinking of getting rid of it. Should I keep the chest hair though? If I was totally fit and good-looking I'd definitely get rid of it cuz there is a lot of it though I am a bit overweight. Is it better to be overweight and have hair or be bare? Can anyone provide some insight on this?

It's a matter of personal taste, actually. There is no better or worse here.
Some ladies prefer hairy men, some prefer men without any kind of body hair, some like us just a bit hairy, some like "bears"... There is no actual scientific answer to your question.

However, if you decide to shave your body hair, remember that it requires maintenance LMAO which can get pretty boring

Hey Shion, I can tell you that I clip and or shave my chest, back, torso, and pubes. I think that it makes a big difference in the way one looks. Even when I have been overweight, it has made a difference. Here is what I have noticed, clipping the pubes with a #1 comb makes me look quite a bit bigger down there, girth wise probably more so than length. As far as clipping your chest and abdomen, here is what I came to the realization, I hope I can explain it properly. When you are overweight, and you have any love handles or fat rolls of any kind, when you look at yourself in the mirror, the thing that makes them really stick out, seems to be the shadow that is under that area. I read your an artist in your bio, so you know the power of the shadow. By shaving / clipping you remove the hair and make the whole area much lighter and thus you will look a little bit trimmer. Also, the smoothness that now shows, gives the impression of trimness. When you do shave / clip your torso, be sure to leave you treasure trail in tact, as that is a wonderfully sensual thing for others to be able to see. Shave your back. There are few people that will want to have a man with a hairy back.
Women that I work with, have said, that they want their men to be 'manly' and have armpit hair, but, they don't want to see it when it is not appropriate to be seeing it. So, simply trim your armpits, so that no hair is seen when you are wearing short sleeve shirt.
And my finale is this. The nape of your neck. Shave it! When I am looking at a guy, and trying to decide if I am interested or not, I always look at the nape of his neck. A guy that pays attention to this detail, I have found, really does care about what he looks like, and has an interest in keeping himself up. It is not just your barbers responsibility to shave that 1 time a month. You need to run a razor across that at least once a week. I have discussed this with women that I work with, and they all confirmed that they look at this as well.
If you want any tips or further questions you can email me, I will be glad to discuss the things I have learned over the years.

Personal taste. I shave underarm hair as it prevents the sweat from smelling and trim my down. Regarding chest hair, I also trim that but not completely off. I do it to suit me and not the women but I know guys who shave ALL hair off the body because they assume women love it. I don't give a shit what the women love hahaha they are individuals like all of us and remember its your body.

Awesome posts all; I know exactly what to do now. Thanks much!

Depends on the country, Americans really embraced the whole metro sexual thing, seems they don't allow any, in Europe its getting same as there, everybody is shaving, even their legs which is quite homo, i don't like it!

I'm Greek, I'm hairy everywhere. I only trim my pubes short because it's more productive to Penis Enlargement and it also keeps odor down.

Trimming/shaving down there also helps in oral sex LMAO, not to mention you feel much more contact during intercourse. :)

Again, it helps cut down odor big time. Less odor= partner more willing to perform oral.

If I don't trim every now and then I end up looking like a chia-pet.

Yeah I have a lot of odor because I have hyperhidrosis and I'm slightly overweight. Although there are people with my same body type I still end up smelling more than most, and I don't have that 70 bucks to spend on a thing of cologne. I just don't.

I don't find my body odor to be offensive, even after a sweat a lot. Other men I know, if they do not shower daily they smell like hell.

One thing to remember about hair, where ever it is--it's just hair, if you don't like the cut, it will grow back.
So, if you are toying with the idea of trying some type of manscaping, just dive in there and do it. Start off with short trim, if you like it, trim some more, keep going, even shave what you take the notion to shave. If you change your mind, it will grow back. :)

For body odor, try one of those Old Spice body washes or equivalent. They are Grreat!

tester,
this thread is somewhat old. I just wondered, are you still Manscaping or letting things go. Your comment about the nape of the neck is probably true. What attracts you to guys as far as the hair thing? Just wondered.............
