yea-I was reading this book called "Prayer Of Jabez"---And it was basically talking about how it is totally ok to ask God to bless u ,,while he's at it to bless u tremendously...And it also says that it is God's nature to Bless....Isn't that wonderful??

That's just amazing!!!
 
This is an example---God has a set amount of blessings to give to you--which is alot---But he said you need to ask and if you dont ask for them then you don't get the blessings that God had planned to give to us for that day!!!!!!!

Okay you say you’re an Atheist, but I’m sure you live according the rules Jesus tried to tell us about 2000 years ago. The whole modern Western Society is based on these rules, just look at the social security laws and regulations. We all pay taxes so we can take care of the less fortunate people in our society.
This is the real value of what Jesus tried to teach us, respect, take care and help your fellow-man.

DarkKnight, you don't see because you don't want to. That's your choice. We can respect that. So do us a favor and extend us the same courtesy. As stated before, this is NOT the thread for religious debate. If you want to start one, fine. I'll join you there and have a counter to every one of your arguments, I guarantee. But not in this thread.

Why are you Catholic if you think God is an invention? Doesn't that contradict itself? Your thoughts sound much more like a secular humanist than any type of Christian.

No my post was not delayed. You are trying to stir stuff up. There was absolutely NO reason to make either of those posts in this thread. They were both way off topic. You should have started another thread.

I don't see any insecurity in any of the replies. I DO see insecurity in the fact that you think you have to come in here and spout off trash to make yourself feel smarter than the so-called "ignorant Christians."

I did read your post. I am not ignorant. But lets take this argument to another thread, shall we?

Can you not read? I DID READ YOUR POST! I've heard all that crap before. Like I said, I would be more than happy to discuss it with you, but this is not the place. Start another thread, and we'll go round and round until we've both mustered up all the apologetics we can for our side, and in the end we will both probably still believe what we do now. You have made up your mind as to what you believe, and I have made mine up. I've been through countless arguments like this before and that is the way they end up every time. But if you want to play mental gymnastics, start another thread. Two mods have already said that this is not the thread to do this.
 
I am truly sorry everyone. It's just that I don't like people being enslaved by religion sometimes.

I don't like it when people bash others or some people can't do certain things because it's "against" religion.


I hope you are all happy aswell. But alteast read my post. I know you didn't read it because it only took you 3 minutes to reply after I posted it.
 
But, I understand where you're coming from, really. I don't think people should be enslaved by religion either. We shouldn't be legalists, saying "Don't do that, because the Bible said not to," or, "I hope you feel really guilty because you broke one of God's commandments." We should support each other in "love and in truth."

I was glad to hear that you are a Catholic. That makes you my brother. I just think that this whole thing should have gone elsewhere. I mean, I definitely think that you should have posted it, and I would love to have a discussion about it in another thread, because I find discussions like these really interesting.

Sorry to come off as a prick, lack of sleep is getting to me.
