Just curious if anyone here has completely taken-apart their BM? I'm not talking about the valve/pip, but the whole enchilada...internal spring mechanism, valve housing, etc. The reason I ask is the fact that the VacuVin stopper looks to be an exact fit for the opening (visually speaking) and this would eliminate the fiddly valve altogether. An ancillary benefit would be the ease at which you can clean the entire cylinder...all nooks and crannies.
I've tried using channel-locks and pulling the housing straight up, I've tried using a long, flat-tip screwdriver to try pressing it out through the top...no joy. There has to be a way to remove this, I just can't see any way without completely obliterating it by drilling it out and endangering the cylinder.
Any experience/ideas?

This is way above my head! I can't set a mouse trap without hurting myself! :) I tried to use a hammer a few times and that did not work out either. And keep screwdrivers far away from me and all glass :) I guess what I am saying is I am very bad with my hands :)

Thanks Threak! I'll try and devise a tool to facilitate removal of that 'O' ring...(I've never seen a pair of needle-nose pliers 10" long, tho :))

Just squirt some soap down there and push hard from the inside with something like the handle of a golf club. Its really difficult to put it back together once you disconnect it.

A flat surface a a huge pump with full force will reseat it in place.

Maybe someone can shoot a video on this, that would be a huge help and I would be willing to give a prize for this.

I see that this wish has alreday been already expressed in the past but no one has had the patience to shoot a video

Just wondering if anyone has had any luck taking the entire valve assembly out? Mine developed a crack and sometimes leaks air in the chamber when i pump with the hand pump thing
