Anyone Bodybuild Too?

Man, losing alcohol completely would be a bitch, but I smoke enough that I could do it. But dropping all carbs is so hard. I've started taking the bread of sandwiches and shit like that but not being able to eat tortillas is soul crushing hahaha

Yo D$, where are you at with this? What are you thinking of doing?

I definitely need to start lifting weights. I might sign up with planet fitness since most the people in there are in bad shape like me. Always hated going to gyms cause they're filled with people twice my size and I'm self conscious about how weak I am lol. As I start saving up money I'm going to be buying more food to cook instead of all the cheap trash I've been eating since I've been out of work.

1) When you say you smoke, are we talking tobacco or pot? If the former... ditch that garbage ASAP as well! Better for your heart, lungs, circulation, EQ, and ability to build muscle and burn fat. You'll feel really fuckin dumb if you wind up with throat cancer because of that stuff. More importantly, you'll have cancer. Pot's not as bad, although many people find that makes it harder to feed themselves intelligently. ;)

2) With dietary advice, don't feel like you have to pick something specific that works for one person and just do that or be unhealthy. Some people need to ditch carbs. They get great results doing that. (StillWant sure did!) I'm a pretty hard gainer, so I can't seem to make myself fat even if I try, but if I'm trying to build muscle I need all the fat and carbs and protein I can stuff down my face. Some people get deathly ill if they eat gluten, others don't have a problem. I can inhale dairy all day long, but if my wife tries it her GI tract revolts. Experiment and see what your body responds to! I have yet to meet the person who doesn't benefit from eliminating alcohol and sugars, though.

1) Do you need to start lifting weights? We haven't established that! Go check out Frank Medrano, Chris Heria, or Austin Dunham on youtube. These guys are calisthenics specialists... and they are ripped to pieces. None of those guys are worried about going into a serious gym. Hell, Medrano rolls with CT himself!

2) But let's say you really want to join a gym. I've been inside a few Planet Fitnesses myself, and I've noticed the same thing you did. Everyone in there is flabby and weak. Now... what does that tell you about Planet Fitness? All of those flabby weak people made the decision to enroll at Planet Fitness, where a literal alarm goes off when people are working hard... and they're still flabby and weak. What makes you think your results will be different?

I'm going to take your thinking here and apply it to the PE world so you can see how counterproductive it is. "I'm not confident about my dick, so I'm going to go to dipshit.com where EVERYONE'S penis is tiny, rather than facing my fear and going to MoS where a bunch of people have gotten the serious results I want." Do you want to hang out with and copy people who suck just to feel better about yourself? Or do you want to surround yourself with champions who have what you want and will push you to get it too? I know what I do when I want to get great at something. I find out where the absolute BEASTS go and I join up with them. And if I'm the scrawniest, dumbest guy in the room then I know I'm in the right place. :)

Bottom line is, you don't want to act based on fear. Nobody judges you like you judge yourself. Those roided-out ogres at the real gym think you're awesome for getting in there and working for what you want. They appreciate your mindset, which HAS to come first before you get any results. (Just like PE!)

3) Want to eat healthier, spend less $$ than you are now, and save tons of time? Are you capable of shifting your mindset and thinking of food as fuel for the shredded body your really want? Soylent. No more prep, no more cleanup, no more shopping, no more garbage in your guts. It's something to ease into and see if it's for you. :)

4) Nothing beats personalized feedback from a trainer who can meet you face to face and see what you're working with, but here are some resources to get you started thinking about how to build a workout for yourself even with no weights at all:

Be careful where you go for info. The fitness world is mostly snake-oil salesman looking to make a quick buck off of your insecurity, or whiners who shit on everyone else because that's easier than getting results for themselves.

Lmao I'm a hermit too. Funny cause I stayed in the streets all day then partied all night up until I was like 23. Then I just said fuck going out into society LOL. I've got like 4 good friends that I see occasionally, but my dog is who usually keeps me company

Indeed my brother! This is a fallen world and I do not like to be in this world because I am not of this world. I don’t really find people that are on the same level as me and this just does not work out for friendships. It’s not their fault it’s mine, because I choose to not engage. I mean I spend my life working in the brotherhood and working in my ministries and I truly have no other time than that. But I love my life as small as it is and I have no desire whatsoever for a girlfriend. It would be nice to have a friend to stop by and hang out every once and again but that will never happen until I’m able to go into society without the discussed I have for it

Right there with ya homie. I've got ptsd after a long list of shit and it makes it almost impossible to trust or get close to people. I used to be a motor mouth, but now I'm probably silent half the day lol. I'm content with my friends though since they've all stuck with me since we were kids even after all the jail time lol. As for a female, I just want somebody pretty to fuck. I don't really care to love somebody like that again. Did it once and she drove me to a xanax addiction.

1) definitely weed. Fuck some tobacco. I've never smoked tobacco in my life and have no reason to start now that weed is getting steadily more support for full legalization.

2) I do actually need to cut back on carbs because for a while basically everything I ate was packed with simple carbs. I'm not a pro athlete so all those unused carbs (along with alcohol) are getting stored as far on my body.

1(again lol) I do need to lift weights, since I'm a small guy and just working at my bodyweight isn't going to give me the strength i want. I never said you can't get in good shape with calisthenics, but lifting heavy weights is more enjoyable of a workout for me. It's been proven to release more testosterone, plus I get really bored with bodyweight exercises.

2nd 2) there's plenty of people that go in there and work. A loud alarm doesn't go off because you work too hard, it goes off when people are being obnoxious with the weights. And, most people who go to the gym and don't get in any better shape have their diet to blame. You can't look at a portion of people and expect every single one to turn out the same. I've got a friend who has a membership there and he's in really good shape. If you go and do your thing, all it is is a money saver lol.

As for being careful for snake oil salesmen, no worries there. Pretty much everything that works has been around forever and there's never going to be a magic cure to shit. I'm too cynical to believe in half the crap people try to sell lol.

Thanks for all those links. I'll check them out a little later before I go to Walmart ?

Damn I wish you lived close by we have so much in common! I was praying to God last night asking him for a woman but my specifications were so unbelievably specific I don’t think she’ll be coming anytime soon, I don’t think that God created her yet LOL I asked for many things but the main thing I asked for is that she would only be here one night a week LOL

Track your food, do resistance training and get proper rest. This helped me go from 5'9" 260lbs down to about 170lbs and the most lean I have ever been. I was always a fat kid until a handful of years ago. I never thought I would ever see south of 200lbs, let alone 175.
