"A man who became the youngest Lotto jackpot winner in Colorado in 1997 is jailed on suspicion of attempted murder. Kevin Sutton, 26, is accused of shooting Cristobal Lopez, 40, late Saturday during an argument, police Cmdr. Craig Earhart said... Lopez said Tuesday he had just learned Sutton was a lottery winner. 'Now I'm going to be talking to a lawyer,' Lopez said. 'I'm going to get every penny I can out of him, dry him out.' Sutton was 19 when he won a $3 million jackpot in 1997. He chose to receive annual payments that grow by 3.7 percent each year for 25 years. His first check was for $51,000 after taxes, and his last will be $121,962. Records show Sutton has other arrests, including one that came a week after he claimed his jackpot for failure to appear on a citation for underage possession of alcohol."
