how about this.
Ace bandage strip cut and then an elastic band stretched and tied around it.
Elastic bands are pretty much just narrow versions of
Ace bandages anyhow.
I just stopped off at the local craft shop (sewing goods, etc) and picked up three sizes of elastic bands. There was 1/4", 1/2" and 3/4" bands. The 1/4 incher is about 8 foot long, the 1/2 incher is about 4 feet long, and the 3/4 incher is about 3 feet long. They were 99 cents each.
I just tried the 1/2 inch tonight. You start with a lighter wrap pressure and then you increase the tension after you have a layer or two down.
The thing with elastic band is that it is cummulative, each layer adds more pressure. It is a flat strip so it doesn't cut in as much as a round cord would.
I didn't try putting anything underneath it, between it and the skin. So it was still a bit abrasive or pinchy feeling, but I didn't break any veins, which I have in the past using ropes or elastic round cords.
I do like the way you can keep building pressure by adding more and more layers of elastic wrap.
