Use Silicone Grease on tube, I recommend CRC.

Never use fats like WD-40 on rubber or plastic.

The problem is, the SS sealing cap cannot be removed for adding the silicone lubricant. You have to mod it. This was brought up as an upgrade request.

It's a very quick mod for the older model where the sealing cap doesn't go all the way down and out of the cup. Not sure about the newer models.

I've had my SS1 for not sure, probably 4-5 years. Do thousands of hours a year on it. I think i have some slippage (not a lot) due to the aging of the seal. Is it possible to just buy the main SS2 vacuum 'body'? I couldn't find that in the shop.
