The most important and biggest motivator is to hide the ruler & focus on training for a couple of months. BPEL is very important because that's basically where your future gains will lie.
Start doing manual stretches along with your routine. Maybe 20 minutes of intense, hard-ass stretches with very strong gripping powder. 7.50 is easily attainable. I remember an italian study indicated that 2 to 4 hours each day is needed with the extender. Here's a post talking about it...
