Yeah, going in soft is fine and pumping an 3/4 erection is fine. I recommend going in 100% erect. You get more out of it.

You have to get rid of the layers of skin on your penis that contain the discoloration. They reside deeper than normal cell sloughing will allow. You have to use a strong enough product that drys the skin and allows you to peal away the brown layer and reveal the pink layer below.
