In my experience, it should not fall off if it has been pumped... I can pump, then take both hands my off and wash my hair in the shower without it falling. Unless you’re using maybe the Hydromax9 or larger, the Bathmate should not just fall off... it should be suctioned on!

In my opinion, flaccid vs erect vs 70% erect when first starting out does not really matter (at least for me). After a few months, I would agree with going in 70-80% erect. As long as your girth does not fill the Bathmate, I would remove the white “comfort sleeve”. For me, suction and pressure...

Make sure that the black part on the valve cap is in the middle position when pumping (not to a side).

Take off and clean the cap! And when in use, make sure the cap‘s valve is in the center position, not pushed to the side. Worse case scenario contact Bathmate for a valve replacement if under warranty, or they do have replacement valves for purchase.
