Working on recovering the Brotherhood. We are not gone.
Sorry about the server being down everyone. I'm throwing IBM I.T. personnel under the fire for this one. They messed up our server. Here's the breakdown:
- On January 26, IBM started decommissioning outdated security systems.
- On January 30, IBM successfully removed its old security architect. At 8PM CST, the entire IBM infrastructure rebooted while we were in the middle of uploading and posting.
- On January 31, 1 AM CST, the IBM idiots got angry messages from us after we got notifications that its infrastructure servers lost our webserver connection to the world. IBM tried to repair it but screwed up royally not only for us, but 30+ other webservers worldwide. IBM didn't want to acknowledge its screw-up and simply said, "Sorry for your inconvenience, but you have to reload your server." **@&())*(*#$@#!(*&#@$(*&@#(*&#$@!! IBM managed to place our files in a backup boot image so we could download and restart with a fresh server installation.
- On February 1st to 2nd, with barely enough sleep tucked under our sheets, we pulled all our backup files from IBM server all the way until the very last post on January 30th, at the snail pace of 875kbps. Imagine the fun of watching the paint dry while running programming scripts to initiate the server.
If you need to reach out to DLD/Mike, don't hesitate to get in touch with [email protected].
Once again, please be patient a bit longer. It's nearly ready to go.
Current status:
- New OS: Reloaded successfully.
- New Forum platform: Reloaded successfully.
- Reloading forum's contents: Pending. It's a slow and painful process to make sure all posts are reloaded with the latest photos and videos. We have backups every 2 days. It would have been very fast if we just needed to restore the content due to data corruption. Nope. This is starting from the very first step when the server is brand spanking new. However, we're not waiting for weeks to get it up and running but just hours.
- Currently, we're on the 2nd hour of webserver's file restoration.
